Bride's Pool
Bride's Pool () is a small river in northeastern New Territories, Hong Kong near Tai Mei Tuk. The river is characterized by string of waterfalls with plunge pools. Mirror Pool is also located nearby. Legend and namesake Legend has it that a bride was being carried in a sedan by four porters on her way to meet her groom in stormy weather. As they passed the pool, one of the porters slipped and the bride fell into the pool and drowned. Therefore, the pool was named Bride's Pool in memory of the bride. Transport Bride's Pool is located in the North East Region of the New Territories in Plover Cove Country Park. It can be accessed either by car or by public transport. By public transport take the MTR East Rail (formerly KCR East Rail) north from Kowloon into New Territories. Depart the train at Tai Po Market station and board minibus 20C. New Territories
The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory, and contains around half of the population of Hong Kong. Tai Mei Tuk
Tai Mei Tuk (officially known as in Chinese; formerly and still commonly known as ; also written as or ) is a place close to the Plover Cove Reservoir in the Tai Po District, New Territories, Hong Kong. The litter is a class of wheelless vehicles, a type of human-powered transport, for the transport of people. Plover Cove Country Park
Plover Cove Country Park () is a country park in Hong Kong located in the Northeastern New Territories. The original country park was established on 7April 1978, covering of natural terrain in the administrative North District and Tai Po District. A northern extension to the park, Plover Cove (Extension) Country Park, was designated on 1June 1979, covering the Double Haven islets and Ping Chau. Ecology Wild animals residing in the woodlands include Malayan porcupine, Chinese ferret-badger, Chinese pangolin, leopard cat and Pallas's squirrel. There have been records of Indian cuckoo and red-winged crested cuckoo on Kat O and in Lai Chi Wo inside the park. The East Rail line () is one of ten lines of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. It used to be one of the three lines of the Kowloon–Canton Railway (KCR) network. Tai Po Market Station
Tai Po Market (; : ) is an MTR station on the in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Located between Flagstaff Hill and Wan Tau Tong Estate in Tai Po, and adjacent to the eponymous market town, the station has three tracks and four platforms. Wu Kau Tang () is an area in Northeast New Territories, Hong Kong. It is administratively part of North District and is enclosed by Plover Cove Country Park on all sides. It is the starting point of the Wu Kau Tang Country Trail and the Plover Cove Reservoir Country Trail.
