Brian Murphy (rugby Union)
Brian Murphy (born 16 December 1985) is a rugby union player from Ireland. He primarily plays as a centre. Murphy last played professionally for Irish provincial side Connacht Rugby in the Pro12. Murphy grew up in Mayo and played rugby for Corrib RFC. He moved from Corrib to Galwegians to play in the All-Ireland League. Murphy's form with Galwegians earned him a development contract with Connacht ahead of the 2012–13 season. Before his first season with the province began Murphy suffered an injury, tearing cartilage in his knee. Murphy made his Connacht senior team debut on 22 February 2013, starting at inside centre against Welsh side Cardiff Blues in the 2012–13 Pro12, and played the full 80 minutes as Connacht came out winners by a score of 22–26. Connacht Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Connachta) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Connacht competes in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The team represents the IRFU Connacht Branch, which is one of four primary branches of the IRFU, and is responsible for rugby union throughout the geographical Irish province of Connacht. Benetton Rugby, also known as Benetton Treviso ( or ), is an Italian professional rugby union team based in Treviso, Veneto competing in the United Rugby Championship, the European Rugby Challenge Cup and European Champions Cup. Treviso rugby team was founded in 1932 and has won 15 Italian national championships. The team has been owned by the Benetton clothing company since 1979. Treviso have competed in the United Rugby Championship (formerly the Pro14 and Pro12) since 2010, and have previously competed in the Italian domestic championship. British And Irish Cup
The British and Irish Cup was an annual rugby union competition for second tier, semi-professional clubs and the reserves or developing teams from professional clubs from Great Britain and Ireland. It took place for the first time in the 2009–10 season, and ran for 9 seasons. After clubs from the English Championship decided to withdraw from the 2018-19 season, the competition was abolished. The Welsh and Irish rugby unions thereafter reinstituted the Celtic Cup competition for its development sides. Leinster A and Munster A were the most successful sides in the competition, winning the trophy twice each. Five English clubs shared the remaining competition wins.
