Brian Murphy (Clonakilty Gaelic Footballer)
Brian Murphy (born 1973) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer. His league and championship career with the Cork senior team lasted from 1993 until 1997. Born in Clonakilty, County Cork, Murphy first played for the Clonakilty club at juvenile and underage levels. In 1996 he was club captain when the team won the county senior championship. Murphy made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Cork minor team. He enjoyed one championship season with the minor team, culminating with the winning of an All-Ireland medal in 1991. Murphy subsequently joined the Cork under-21, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1994. By this stage he had joined the Cork senior team after making his debut during the 1993 championship. An All-Ireland runner-up in his debut season, Murphy won three Munster medals. Clonakilty
Clonakilty (; ), sometimes shortened to Clon, is a town in County Cork, Ireland. The town is located at the head of the tidal Clonakilty Bay. The rural hinterland is used mainly for dairy farming. The town's population as of 2016 was 4,592. Munster Senior Football Championship
The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Saturday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Munster Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. Ciarán O'Sullivan
Ciarán O'Sullivan (born 5 July 1970) is an Irish Gaelic football selector and former player. His championship career with the Cork senior team spanned fourteen seasons from 1992 until 2005. O'Sullivan made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Cork minor team. He enjoyed one unsuccessful championship season with the minor team before playing with the under-21 side for three seasons. By this stage he had also joined the junior team, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1990. O'Sullivan joined the Cork senior team during the 1992 championship. Over the course of the following fourteen seasons he won five Munster medals and one National Football League medal. An All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions, O'Sullivan retired from inter-county football in 2005. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The winning team is presented with the Tadhg Crowley Cup. The 1995 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 109th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter county, inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 21 May 1995 and ended on 17 September 1995. The 1994 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 108th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 15 May 1994 and ended on 18 September 1994. Derry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Down in the Ulster quarter-final in what is regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. The 1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 107th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 16 May 1993 and ended on 19 September 1993. Donegal entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Derry in the Ulster final played during a deluge in Clones. Derry went on to win the Sam Maguire Cup for the first time, beating Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final and then Cork in the All-Ireland final by 1-14 to 2-8.
