Brian Bradley (ice Hockey, Born 1944)
Brian James Bradley (born December 14, 1944) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach. He played three seasons in the World Hockey Association from 1972 until 1975 with the New York Raiders, New York Golden Blades, Jersey Knights and the San Diego Mariners. Career Bradley played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros from 1960 until 1963, switching to the Niagara Falls Flyers for the 1963–64 and 1964–65 seasons in the Ontario Hockey Association. Career Bradley turned professional in 1965 with the Oklahoma City Blazers. He played with the Blazers, Dallas Black Hawks and the Quebec Aces until the formation of the World Hockey Association. Bradley joined the New York Raiders in 1972 and played two seasons with the franchise, becoming the New York Golden Blades in the second season. The Roanoke Valley Rebels were a minor league professional ice hockey team based in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia. The team first played in the Eastern Hockey League and then joined the Southern Hockey League. The team was originally known as the Salem Rebels from 1967 to 1970, playing at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. In 1971, the Rebels began splitting home games between Salem at the newer and larger Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke. The Quebec Aces, also known in French as Les As de Québec, were an amateur and later a professional men's ice hockey team from Quebec City, Quebec. History The Aces were founded in 1928 by Anglo-Canadian Pulp and Paper Mills, the name Aces standing for Anglo-Canadian Employees with an ''s'' to form a plural. The French name was added later. The Aces played until 1971, from 1930 on playing home games at the Quebec Coliseum. Most notable of the Aces' players was the legendary Jean Béliveau, who played for the Quebec Aces in 1951-52 and 1952-53. The Aces were Allan Cup champions in 1944, while still playing as an amateur team. Southern Hockey League (1973–1977)
The Southern Hockey League was a low-level minor professional ice hockey league that operated from 1973 to 1977. The league was formed when the Eastern Hockey League split in two; the southern teams became the Southern Hockey League, and the northern teams became the North American Hockey League. It was the first professional hockey league to operate wholly within the Southern United States, and followed the establishment of the Atlanta Flames in the National Hockey League; and also the Richmond Robins and the Tidewater Wings in the American Hockey League. The Southern Hockey League was a feeder league for the recently started World Hockey Association. Tedd Munchak was appointed the league's first commissioner, and was owner of the Greensboro Generals.
