Brett Gallant (ice Hockey)
Brett Gallant (born December 28, 1988) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Gallant played junior hockey with the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MJAHL). He was the team captain during the 2008–09 season when they won the Fred Page Cup, scoring 73 points in 50 games. On November 20, 2009, the Syracuse Crunch signed Gallant to a Hockey contracts#Professional tryout, professional tryout. After developing in the ECHL with the Elmira Jackals and the Reading Royals, Gallant signed a one-year contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Bridgeport Sound Tigers
The Bridgeport Islanders (previously known as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers) are a professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, who own the franchise. Reading Royals
The Reading Royals are a professional ice hockey team that currently plays in the ECHL. The team participates in the North Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference. The Royals play their home games at the Santander Arena located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania. Since 2001, the Royals have ranked among ECHL leaders in regular season attendance. Calder Cup
The Calder Cup is the trophy awarded annually to the playoff champions of the American Hockey League. It was first presented in 1937 to the Syracuse Stars. The cup is made of sterling silver mounted on a base of Brazilian mahogany. In its current shape, the trophy has a two-tiered square base with commemorative plaques for each of the AHL's 20 most recent champions: 12 on the bottom tier and 8 on the top tier. Each time a new championship plaque is added, the oldest plaque is retired and joins a display at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Zenon Konopka (born January 2, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Also known as "Zenon the Destroyer", Konopka played for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, and Buffalo Sabres during his National Hockey League (NHL) career.
