Brent Harding
Brent Harding (born March 3, 1967) is an American musician who is the current bass player for the California punk group Social Distortion, which he joined in early 2005. Biography Harding joined Social Distortion in January 2005, replacing temporary bass player, Matt Freeman, who is best known for working as the bass player of Rancid. His first recording with the band was re-recordings of their older material and " Far Behind", which appear on their 2007 ''Greatest Hits'' album. He also appeared on the band's seventh studio album ''Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes'', which was released in January 2011. This would be the band's first proper studio album with Harding. Prior to joining Social Distortion, Harding was the bass player for Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness during his ''Cheating at Solitaire'' tour and recorded with Ness on his second solo offering '' Under the Influences''. Social Distortion
Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jonny Wickersham (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Brent Harding (bass, backing vocals), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards). Starting as a hardcore punk band in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Social Distortion went on a temporary hiatus in the mid-1980s, due to Ness's drug addiction and troubles with the law which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers that lasted for two years. Following their reformation, the band has shifted its style to a country, blues and early rock and roll-influenced style of punk. Youth Brigade (band)
Youth Brigade is an American punk rock band formed in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, in 1980 by the brothers Mark, Adam, and Shawn Stern. The band subsequently founded BYO (Better Youth Organization). Many later punk bands cite Youth Brigade as an influence, including The Nation of Ulysses and The Briefs. Youth Brigade has released five studio albums (counting one released as The Brigade), of which the last was released in 1996. Almost each album was recorded with the original lineup of the Stern brothers (Mark, Adam and Shawn); bassist Bob Gnarly replaced Adam in 1985 during the recording of '' The Dividing Line'', which was released as The Brigade. Jonny Wickersham
Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (born May 26, 196 is an American musician who is currently a guitarist for the California punk rock band Social Distortion. He joined Social Distortion after the death of founding member and longtime friend Dennis Danell in February 2000. Previously he had been a guitarist for U.S. Bombs, The Cadillac Tramps, and Youth Brigade. Career Wickersham has been touring and recording with Social Distortion since the ''When the Angels Sing'' memorial concert held in June 2000 to benefit Dennis Danell's family. Wickersham also co-wrote "Angel's Wings", "Faithless" and "Nickels and Dimes" along with Mike Ness for Social Distortion's 2004 release '' Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'' as well as "Machine Gun Blues", "Far Side of Nowhere" and "Take Care of Yourself" with Ness on Social Distortion's '' Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes''. Deke Dickerson
Deke Dickerson (born 3 June 1968) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and film composer. Dickerson was born in St. Louis, Missouri. After playing in several local rockabilly bands, Deke formed The Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Dave & Deke Combo, a partnership that yielded two albums and a 2005 reunion at major rockabilly festivals. Joining the Ecco-Fonics in 1998, Deke toured, signed to HighTone Records and released three albums for the label. His style incorporates country, alternative country, rockabilly, hillbilly, blues, western swing and rock 'n' roll. ''Cheating at Solitaire'' is the first solo album from Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness. Released in 1999, it bypasses much of Social Distortion's punk muscle in favor of a more roots-oriented approach to rock and roll. It features cameos by Bruce Springsteen, Brian Setzer, and members of Royal Crown Revue. Johnny Cash was invited to perform on the song "Ballad of a Lonely Man", but was too ill to record at the time. Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes
''Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes'' is the seventh (and currently last) studio album by the American punk rock band Social Distortion, released on January 18, 2011. It is the band's first album recorded with bassist Brent Harding, their first album of new material since 2004's '' Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'', and their first release on Epitaph Records. Work on the album began in 2006 and it was originally forecast for a 2007 release, but was pushed back several times while the band continued touring and writing new material. After four years of writing, Social Distortion recorded the album from February to July 2010 at Ocean Studios in Burbank, California. Drummer Atom Willard left the group during the recording sessions in favor of his other band, Angels & Airwaves. ''Greatest Hits'' is a compilation album by Social Distortion. It was released on June 25, 2007. It includes hit singles from '' Mommy's Little Monster'' to '' Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'' - as well as the unreleased track " Far Behind", which also became a hit single – yet lacks anything from '' Mainliner'', which is actually a compilation of unreleased early material. "Far Behind" is also the band's first new song recorded with then-current line-up of Mike Ness (vocals, guitars), Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (guitar), Brent Harding (bass guitar) and Charlie Quintana (drums). The limited edition vinyl for this album contains an interview with Mike Ness.
