Brent Bowden (American Football)
Brent Michael Bowden (born May 21, 1987) is a former American football punter. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech. Bowden has also been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Virginia Destroyers. Early years Bowden was born on May 21, 1987, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Tim and Denise Bowden. His older brother, Chris Hall, was a punter for the Florida State Seminoles. His younger brother, Grant, is currently a punter at Liberty University. He attended Westfield High School in Fairfax County, Virginia, where he lettered in football as a punter. In 2003, his junior year, he averaged 40 yards per punt, with a net average of 38 yards, and a long of 64 yards. A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snap (gridiron football), snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then Punt (gridiron football), punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they forward pass, throw or rush (gridiron football), run the football instead of punting. The 2007 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represented the Georgia Institute of Technology in the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Ohio Bobcats football team is a major intercollegiate varsity sports program of Ohio University. The team represents the university as the senior member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), playing at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level.
