The song was written by Grande, Savan Kotecha, Kandi Burruss, Kevin Briggs, and the producers Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh. It was released through Republic Records on February 8, 2019, as the third and final single from the album. The pop- R&B and trap-pop song consists of a bass guitar and interpolates the NSYNC song "It Makes Me Ill" in the bridge. The lyrics depict Grande convincing a man to break up with his girlfriend.
