Jerusa Geber dos Santos (born 26 April 1982) is a visually impaired Brazilian sprinter. Competing in the T11 classification, Geber has competed at two Summer Paralympic Games, winning two silver and a bronze medal. She is also a multiple World Championships and Parapan American medalist, taking ten medals over five tournaments. She qualified for the 2020 Summer Paralympics, in Women's 100m T11, and Women's 200m T11. Life She was born with cataracts in 1982 and after having glaucoma she became totally blind when she was eighteen. When she was nineteen a friend suggested that she should take up athletics and in 2005 she first represented her country. Claudiney Batista dos Santos (born 13 November 1978) is a Brazilian Paralympian athlete competing in category F57/T57 throwing events. He won a silver medal in the javelin throw at the 2012 Paralympics and a gold medal in the discus throw at the 2016 Rio Games. Career history Batista was born able bodied, but after a road accident in May 2005 part of his left leg needed to be amputated. While in hospital he was visited by para-athletic organisations offering sport as a way to help in his recovery. He refused to accept their invitation for over two years, before changing his mind. In 2011 he was part of the Brazilian team which entered into the 2011 Parapan American Games. He entered the javelin and discus, both in the joint F57/58 class, winning the javelin and coming third in the discus. Odair Santos (born 17 May 1981) is a visually impaired Paralympian athlete from Brazil competing mainly in T11 classification middle and long-distance events. A veteran of four Paralympics, Santos has won nine Paralympic medals, including five silver medals. Santos is also a four time IPC World champion at the 1,500 metres event, being unbeaten from 2006 to 2015. Wheelchair fencing at the 2012 Summer Paralympics was held in the ExCeL from 4 September to 8 September 2012. Jovane Silva Guissone
Jovane Silva Guissone (born 11 March 1983) is a Paralympic épée and foil fencer from Brazil. He competed at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics and won a gold medal in the individual épée in 2012. Guissone lost control of his legs after being shot in 2004.
