Bradley John Nelson (born December 23, 1982) is a former professional baseball player. He played primarily first baseman, first base and outfielder, outfield in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers. High school Nelson played high school baseball at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona, Iowa. He was a pitcher and utility infielder. He started varsity halfway through his eighth grade summer and led the team to the state championship game as a sophomore. The team he played on that season continues to hold the state records for most Run (baseball), runs (523), home runs (90), and Run batted in, RBIs (461) in a season; Nelson himself holds the state records for most Hit (baseball), hits (83) and most RBIs (91) in a season. Brad Nelson is an American Magic: The Gathering player. Also known by his Magic: The Gathering Online name, FFfreaK, he has three Pro Tour top eights, and thirteen Grand Prix top eights, including two wins. In 2010, Nelson became the first non-Japanese player since Gabriel Nassif in 2004 and the first American player since Bob Maher in 2000 to earn the Player of the Year title. However, Nelson did not receive his title for Player of the Year 2010 until February 2011 after winning the first-ever Player of the Year Tie playoff match against Guillaume Matignon of France.
