The next month they robbed the east bound train from San Antonio near Flatonia, in Fayette County, getting away with over $7,000. In 1888, Whitley, Cornett, and the gang robbed the bank in Cisco, Texas, escaping with $25,000. Several days later they stopped an I&GN train and stole $20,000. Barmbrack
Barmbrack ( ga, bairín breac), also often shortened to brack, is a yeast bread with added sultanas and raisins. The bread is associated with Halloween in Ireland, where an item (often a ring) is placed inside the bread, with the person who receives it considered to be fortunate. Etymology It is sometimes called , and the term is also used as two words in its more common version. This may be from the Irish word - - and - (due to the raisins in it), hence it literally means a speckled loaf (a similar etymology to the Welsh ). Other origins for "barm" could relate to the use of the froth from fermented ale, which is a form of yeast referred to as barm. This was used in place of bicarbonate soda in baking, as it was not widely available in Ireland until the early 19th century. Description Usually sold in flattened rounds, it is often served toasted with butter along with a cup of tea. The dough is sweeter than sandwich bread, but not as rich as cake, and the sultanas and r ...

William Brackenridge
William Dunlop Brackenridge (1810–1893) was a British-American nurseryman and botanist. Brackenridge emigrated to Philadelphia in 1837, where he was employed by Robert Buist, nurseryman. He was appointed horticulturalist, then assistant botanist, for the United States Exploring Expedition from 1838-1842. Originally, the well-known botanist Asa Gray was to be the chief botanist, and William Rich, a Washington, DC socialite and son of an ambassador, was politically appointed as his assistant. However, Gray never went on the expedition due to taking an academic job, and Rich was appointed botanist, so they needed a new assistant. Rich was reportedly of little use on the trip, and Brackenridge did almost all the collecting and serious botany work. Brackenridge was assigned to the U.S. Ship Vincennes. In 1839, he collected plants in the Sydney and Hunter River districts of New South Wales, Australia. From 1841-1842, the ships explored the Oregon and California coasts, with trips i ...

In 1929 the Austin City Council renamed the hospital after hospital board chairperson Robert J. Brackenridge. In 1969, a replacement building opened, with a price tag of $43 million. It eventually housed 363 beds, as the final phase opened in 1984. In 1995 the city began contracting the operation of the hospital to Seton Healthcare Family. In 2004 the city sold the hospital to Central Health. The hospital closed on May 21, 2017 ...
