Boťany
Boťany (; hu, Battyán) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1332. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 103 metres and covers an area of 19.522 km². Demographics Bot'any has a population of 1,283 people. The village is about 70% Hungarian, 20% Gypsy and 10% Slovak. 78.52% of its population is Roman Catholic. Facilities The village has a post office, a public library and a football pitch. Košice Region
The Košice Region ( sk, Košický kraj, , hu, Kassai kerület; uk, Кошицький край) is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions. The region was first established in 1923 and its present borders were established in 1996. It consists of 11 districts ( okresy) and 440 municipalities, 17 of which have a town status. A football pitch (also known as soccer field) is the playing surface for the game of association football. Its dimensions and markings are defined by Law 1 of the Laws of the Game, "The Field of Play".
