Boxes (Goo Goo Dolls Album)
''Boxes'' is the eleventh studio album by American rock band Goo Goo Dolls. It was released on May 6, 2016, through Warner Bros. Records. It marks the band's first album since ''A Boy Named Goo'' recorded without drummer Mike Malinin, who was removed from the band in 2013, and their first album to be recorded as duo. Upon, release, ''Boxes'' debuted and peaked at #27 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart, with first week sales of 15,000 copies. The album marks the first studio album released by the band to not debut in the top ten since 1998's ''Dizzy Up the Girl''. Singles The lead single from ''Boxes'', "So Alive", was released on April 8, 2016. A second single, "Over And Over", was released to radio on October 12 of the same year, along with an official lyric video. Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York, by guitarist/vocalist John Rzeznik, bassist/vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska. After starting off as a cover band and then developing a punk sound, The Goo Goo Dolls experienced mainstream success following the 1995 release of their breakthrough single, "Name". The band is renowned for its biggest hit, "Iris", released in 1998. The song spent nearly 12 straight months on the ''Billboard'' charts and held the number one position on the Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks. Robby Takac
Robert Carl Takac Jr. (born September 30, 1964) is an American rock bassist and vocalist. Takac is one of the founding members of the Goo Goo Dolls, along with Johnny Rzeznik. Background Takac was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in the Buffalo suburb of West Seneca with his parents and younger sister. One of his grandparents was Hungarian, which is reflected by his name (originally written: Takács, which is Hungarian for 'weaver'). He graduated from West Seneca East Senior High School in 1982. He graduated from Medaille College with a Communication degree, with an emphasis on Radio Broadcasting. In his college years, he played in several bands and interned and worked at a local Buffalo radio station. In 2008, Takac was named to the Medaille College Board of Trustees. Brad Fernquist
Brad Fernquist is a professional touring and studio guitarist. Fernquist is primarily known for his work with Buffalo, New York based rock band the Goo Goo Dolls. At 17 years old Fernquist began touring with regional cover bands where he was able to develop his technique, and perfect his tone. Brad attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts for one semester but left the school after his gigging schedule started to grow. Fernquist has become a well known sidemen in pop/rock music. His first audition was with popular 1990s rock group The New Radicals with whom he toured extensively. Since leaving the New Radicals Fernquist toured with Fastball, Hilary Duff, Lisa Marie Presley, Bonnie McKee, and most notably Michelle Branch. CFO$ () was an American songwriting and production duo consisting of John Paul Alicastro and Michael Conrad Lauri. They were primarily known for creating entrance music and program themes for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Jarrad Kritzstein, (born September 9, 1987) also known as Jarrad K, is an American record producer, songwriter, filmmaker and actor. He is known for co-writing/producing Ruston Kelly’s debut LP “Dying Star” and Elohim’s self-titled album, “Elohim.” Early life and education Kritzstein was born in Orange County, California. Career As a young man, Kritzstein starred as Jimmy Kidd on the PBS television show ''Wishbone'', as well as voiced Tiny Tim in the animated ''A Christmas Carol''.
