Bowden's Bus Service
Bowden's Bus Service was an Australian bus company operating route bus services in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. History Route 79 commenced operating on 22 March 1948 from Tamarama Beach via Bronte Beach, Oxford Street, Moore Park Road, Crown, Oxford, College and Macquarie Streets to Macquarie Place, Circular Quay. It was operated as a taxi bus service by two owner/drivers, Joe Bowden and Roy Berglund. Waverley is a suburb in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Waverley Bus Depot
Waverley Bus Depot is a bus depot in the Sydney suburb of Bondi Junction operated by Transdev John Holland. History Waverley Tram Depot opened on 7 September 1902 as a seventeen road depot on the corner of Oxford Street and York Road, Bondi Junction. It provided trams that operated the Bondi and Bronte routes. The depot closed on 27 June 1959 for conversion a to bus depot. Today only the southern section of the car shed remains, the northern section having been demolished. As part of the contracting out of Sydney Bus Region 9, operation of Waverley depot passed from State Transit to Transdev John Holland on 2 April 2022. Public Transport Commission
The Public Transport Commission (PTC) was an agency of the Government of New South Wales responsible for the provision of rail, bus and ferry services in New South Wales, Australia from October 1972 until June 1980. Upon dissolution, responsibility for rail services transferred to the State Rail Authority and responsibility for bus and ferry services to the Urban Transit Authority. The PTC, composed of five Commissioners appointed by the Governor of New South Wales, was accountable to the Minister for Transport. Bondi Junction is an eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 6 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of Waverley. Bathurst Street is a street in the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. Bathurst Street runs for in a west–east direction with traffic flowing in this direction only.
