Botevgrad-Vidin Expressway
The Vidin-Botevgrad expressway () is a planned expressway in Bulgaria, that will link the A2 Hemus motorway with Vidin and the New Europe Bridge, at the Danube border crossing to Romania. The expressway shall provide grade-separated dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction and it shall replace or supersede the existing I-1 road. The route is part of the Pan-European Corridor IV. It is also part of the European route E79, that runs from Miskolc (Hungary) to Thessaloniki (Greece) and part of the proposed Via Carpatia route. In June 2014, tenders for construction of two sections between Botevgrad and Mezdra were announced. In September 2014, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced that construction of Vidin-Botevgrad expressway shall be financed by an EIB loan. Vidin
Vidin ( bg, Видин, ; Old Romanian: Diiu) is a port city on the southern bank of the Danube in north-western Bulgaria. It is close to the borders with Romania and Serbia, and is also the administrative centre of Vidin Province, as well as of the Metropolitan of Vidin (since 870). An agricultural and trade centre, Vidin has a fertile hinterland renowned for its wines. Name The name is archaically spelled as ''Widdin'' in English. Bela, Vidin Province
Bela (Bulgarian language, Bulgarian: Бела) is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It has a population of 108 inhabitants. It is part of the Dimovo Municipality, Dimovo municipality, Vidin Province. It is situated on the main highway E79 about 5.6 km south of the town of Dimovo Municipality, Dimovo, and about 39 km south of Vidin. Nearby villages include Skomlya, Karbintsi and Oreshets. The main railway line between Sofia and Vidin passes through the village. Bela has been existent since the 18th century. The village was traditionally a regional milling center, milling wheat for farmers from nearby villages, but mills have not been operational for quite some time. Via Carpathia
Via Carpathia (also Via Carpatia) is a planned transnational highway network connecting Klaipėda in Lithuania with Thessaloniki in Greece. It is currently planned to open in 2025. The Polish part of Via Carpatia has been named in 2021 after late President Lech Kaczyński. History The route was initially agreed upon in 2006 by Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. In 2010, this group was joined by Romania, Bulgaria and Greece who signed the so called ''Łańcut Declaration.''
