Catalan (; autonym: , ), known in the Valencian Community and Carche as ''Valencian'' (autonym: ), is a Western Romance language. Johnny Borrell
Jonathan Edward Borrell (born 4 April 1980) is an English guitarist and singer, currently the frontman of the rock band Razorlight. Early life and career Borrell was born in Sutton, London. His father, New Zealand-born John Borrell, was a war correspondent; his mother was a primary school teacher in Tottenham. His parents divorced when he was young. Borrell lived at Highgate, where he attended Highgate School. He moved to Camden School for Girls for sixth form. Borrell was involved in music and the Camden scene while still at school. At 17 he played bass guitar in a band called Violet alongside Paul Rose, aka dubstep pioneer Scuba, who regularly played gigs on the Camden circuit. The band recorded an EP and started to gain some recognition before splitting acrimoniously live on stage at Dublin Castle in late '97 . Ausona
The County of Osona, also Ausona ( ca, Comtat d'Osona, ; la, Comitatus Ausonae), was one of the Catalan counties of the ''Marca Hispanica'' in the Early and High Middle Ages. It was based around the capital city of Vic (''Vicus'') and the corresponding diocese, whose territory was roughly the current ''comarca'' of Osona. The ancient diocese of Osona was sacked by the Arabs in the mid eighth century (c. 750–755). Its reconquest by Christian powers began in 798; in that year Louis of Aquitaine ordered a Goth Borrell to enter the abandoned region and repair the castles of Vic, Cardona, and Casserès. Vic was in Frankish hands by 799. After the successful siege of Barcelona in 801, Borrell, already Count of Cerdanya and Urgell, received Osona as a countship from his liege lord, King Louis. Ramon Borrell ( ca, Ramon Borrell, es, Ramón Borrell; 972–1017) was count of Barcelona, Girona and Ausona from 992. He was the son of Borrell II of Barcelona and Letgarda of Rouergue, and was associated with his father in ruling the counties from 988. Biography Between 1000 and 1002 Ramon had to deal with a number of incursions by Almanzor. However, Almanzor died in 1002, and seeing an opportunity Ramon counter-attacked in 1003 leading an expedition to Lleida. Pere Borrell Del Caso
Pere Borrell del Caso (13 December 1835, in Puigcerdà – 16 May 1910, in Barcelona) was a Spanish painter, illustrator and engraver, known for his ''trompe-l'œil'' paintings; especially ''Escaping Criticism'' (1874). His father was a cabinetmaker who taught that craft to Borrell. It was by this means that he was able to support his studies at the School of Fine Arts. He also painted portraits, which made up the bulk of his work, and created religious murals in the Nazarene style in Barcelona, Girona and Castellar del Vallès. These, however, were all destroyed during the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. He exhibited throughout Spain and at the 1878 Exposition Universelle. He was twice offered a professorship at the Escola de la Llotja, but preferred to teach at his own private art school.
