Juan Boria
Juan Boria (February 17, 1905 – May 29, 1995) also known as the Negro Verse Pharaoh, was a Puerto Rican poet known for his Afro-Caribbean poetry. Biography Early years Juan Boria Romero was born on February 17, 1906 in Dorado, Puerto Rico to Juan Boria Nevárez, a sugar factory engineer, and Anselma Romero Sempri, a housewife. He was of predominant African ancestry and of partial Italian ancestry through his mother. He took his elementary studies in Dorado. After that, he followed studies in the nearby town of Toa Baja. During weekends, he worked as a mason and carpenter to pay for his studies. He finished his studies in Santurce in 1923. At this time, his family moved to the town of Cataño and he started studies in the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. He received his bachelor's degree as a teacher of industrial arts, drawing, and carpentry. Boria Sax
Boria Sax (born 1949) is an American author and lecturer and a teacher at Mercy College. Boria Sax is probably best known for his writing on human-animal relations, where he has developed a style that combines scholarship with narrative and lyricism. He views the representation of animals in human culture as a means to explore human identity, as well as an enduring source of myths and legends. The publications of Boria Sax include books of scholarship, poetry, reference, translation, memoirs, and other genres. Two of the scholarly books have been named to list of “outstanding academic titles of the year” compiled by the journal ''Choice'': ''Animals in the Third Reich: Pets, Scapegoats, and the Holocaust'' ( Continuum, 2000) and ''The Mythical Zoo: An Encyclopedia of Animals in Myth, Legend, and Literature'' ( ABC-CLIO, 2002). José Antonio Ñíguez Vicente (born 30 September 1962), known as Boria, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his senior career with Elche, with which he appeared in all three major levels of Spanish football for a total of ten seasons. Club career Born in Elche, Valencian Community, Boria played mainly for local Elche CF. He made his senior debut at only 18 and competed almost exclusively in the Segunda División, scoring a career-best 13 goals in 33 games in the 1983–84 season to help the club to return to La Liga after a six-year absence. Boria (caste)
The Boria or Baurasi also known as are a Hindu caste found in North India. They are a sub-group of the Pasi community. The Boriya are a sub-group of the Pasi community. Although of Pasi origin, the two communities are now quite distinct and do not intermarry. They are found mainly in the Awadh region, mainly in the districts of Gonda, Faizabad, and Barabanki. Haughton in 1897 which according to him, it was first brought to Penang in 1845 by the Muslim soldiers of 21st Madras Regiment. It was originally played to celebrate the annual Shiite festival, the Mourning of Muharram. In 1910, R.J Wilkinson, a Straits Civil Service officer and a noted scholar of Malay studies, made a comparison between the boria of Madras and Penang, and established that the resemblance was only in name, for the show as then known in Penang had evolved to a totally different form.
