Bomb In A Birdcage
''Bomb in a Birdcage'' is the second studio album by A Fine Frenzy, the stage name of American singer-songwriter Alison Sudol. The album was released on August 28, 2009 in Germany and on September 8, 2009 in the United States. Background and release ''Bomb in a Birdcage'' debuted at #28 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, a career high for Sudol. The album's singles were digitally released via iTunes: "Blow Away" in July 2009, followed by "Happier" and "Electric Twist" in 2010. Two bonus tracks were also included with exclusive editions of the album on iTunes and Amazon MP3 respectively: "Coming Around" and "Silent War". The album's title is taken from the end of the LP's first song, "What I Wouldn't Do", where Sudol sings: "It was now and we were both in the same place / Didn't know how to say the words / With my heart ticking like a bomb in a birdcage / I left before someone got hurt." Alison Sudol (born December 23, 1984) is an American actress, singer, songwriter and music video director. She is known as the singer A Fine Frenzy, and for her role as Queenie Goldstein in ''Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'' (2016), as well as its sequels '' The Crimes of Grindelwald'' (2018) and '' The Secrets of Dumbledore'' (2022). Her music has been featured in numerous television shows and movies. Early life Sudol was born in Seattle, Washington to dramatic arts teacher Sondra (Fraser) West-Moore and acting coach John Sudol. ''One Cell in the Sea'' is the debut studio album by A Fine Frenzy, the stage name of American singer-songwriter Alison Sudol, released under Virgin Records on July 17, 2007. The album debuted at #158 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and later peaked at #91. Development Sudol made a demo tape consisting of songs on ''One Cell in the Sea'', which eventually fell into the hands of the CEO of Virgin Records. After listening to the tape, the CEO flew to Sudol's mother's home in Los Angeles to listen to her play. According to Sudol, he responded most positively to "Rangers," a track she considers "obscure and weird," so she found the label to be understanding. The album title comes from a lyric in "The Minnow and the Trout" because Sudol felt the phrase "summed up everything." The album was released in the United States on October 9, 2012 and in the United Kingdom on January 28, 2013 through Virgin Records. ''Pines'' is accompanied by a companion book and short animated film, 'The Story of Pines,' which premiered on TakePartTV on October 2. To support the album, Sudol co-headlined the "Live and In Concert" tour throughout the United States and western Canada in October and November 2012 with musician Joshua Radin.
