Bolesław Of Dobrzyń
Bolesław of Dobrzyń (pl: ''Boleslaw dobrzyński''; betw. 1303/06 - 1 October 1327/12 March 1329, most probably in 1328), was a Polish prince, member of the House of Piast. He was Duke of Dobrzyń during 1312-1327 (until 1316 under the regency of his mother and since them under the tutelage of his oldest brother) and Duke of Łęczyca since 1327 jointly with his brother. He was the fourth or second son of Siemowit of Dobrzyń and Anastasia Lvovna of Halych–Volhynia. It's unknown after whom he was named; probably was in honour to Bolesław II of Płock, his father's cousin. Life Bolesław never ruled by himself. After his father's death in 1312 he was under the regency of his mother and uncle, Władysław I the Elbow-high, and since 1316 he remained under the guardianship of his oldest surviving brother Władysław, with whom he jointly issued documents from 1322. Dobrzyń Nad Wisłą
Dobrzyń nad Wisłą (Polish pronunciation: ; german: Dobrin an der Weichsel) is a town in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. It lies on the Vistula River in the vicinity of Włocławek. As of December 2021, the town has a population of 2,025. History Foundations The settlement of Dobrzyń dates back to the Middle Ages. A Gord (archaeology), stronghold existed at the site since 9th century, and later also a castle was erected. It became part of the emerging Polish state in the 10th century. The oldest known mention of Dobrzyń (as Dobrin) comes from 1065. In the 11th century there was a castellan stronghold here. Florian Laskary Of Kościelec (Bishop Of Płock)
Florian Laskary z Kościelca was Bishop of Płock, Poland from 1317 until his death in 1333 AD, He was also Canon of Duke Bolesław II and a chaplain at Gniezno. Born into the Leszczyc noble family, he had a successful career in the medieval Polish church. From 6 August 1299 he was chaplain of the Duke of Płock, Bolesław II and was a Bishop of Płock from 1318–1333. During his long episcopacy he tried to establish good relations with the Teutonic Knights but was one of the initiators of the conclusion of the Alliance between the Teutonic Knights and Duke Wenceslaus of Płock. Oswald Balzer
Oswald Marian Balzer (23 January 1858 in Chodorów – 11 January 1933 in Lwów) was a Polish historian of law and statehood, one of the most renowned Polish historians of his times. In 1887 he became a professor at the University of Lwów. Between 1895 and 1896 he also briefly served as its rector. Since 1891 until his death he was also the director of City Archives in Lwów. His best work is ''Genealogia Piastów'' (1895). In 1888 he was offered a seat in the Polish Academy of Skills, as well as several other scientific societies, both in Poland and abroad. In 1901 he founded the Society for the Support of Polish Science in Lwów (''Towarzystwo dla Popierania Nauki Polskiej we Lwowie''), the first such society in the city, later to be renamed to Lwow Scientific Society (1920). Rypin
Rypin (german: Rippin) is a town in north-central Poland, in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, about 50 km east of Toruń. It is the capital of Rypin County. Population is 16,950 (2009). Władysław the Hunchback (pl: ''Władysław Garbaty''; ca. 1303/05 - 5 June 1351/April 1352), was a Polish prince, member of the House of Piast. He was Duke of Dobrzyń during 1312-1327 (until 1316 under the regency of his mother and uncle) and again since 1343, and Duke of Łęczyca since 1327. The House of Piast was the first historical ruling dynasty of Poland. The first documented Polish monarch was Duke Mieszko I (c. 930–992). The Piasts' royal rule in Poland ended in 1370 with the death of king Casimir III the Great. Branches of the Piast dynasty continued to rule in the Duchy of Masovia and in the Duchies of Silesia until the last male Silesian Piast died in 1675.
