Bohdan rural territorial hromada ( uk, Богданська сільська територіальна громада, translit=Bohdanska silska terytorialna hromada) is one of the hromadas of Ukraine, located in Zakarpattia Oblast's eastern Rakhiv Raion. An oblast ( uk, о́бласть; ) in Ukraine, often called a region or province, is the main type of first-level administrative division of the country. Ukraine's territory is divided into 24 oblasts, as well as one autonomous republic, Crimea, and two cities with special status, Kyiv and Sevastopol. Raions of Ukraine (often translated as "districts"; Ukrainian: ра́йон, tr. ''raion''; plural: райо́ни, tr. ''raiony'') are the second level of administrative division in Ukraine, below the oblast. Hromada
A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality. It was established by the Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Similar terms exist in Poland (''gromada'') and in Belarus (''hramada''). The literal translation of this term is "community", similarly to the terms used in western European states, such as Germany ('' Gemeinde''), France (''commune'') and Italy (''comune''). Zakarpattia Oblast
The Zakarpattia Oblast ( uk, Закарпатська область, Zakarpatska oblast) is an administrative oblast located in western Ukraine, mostly coterminous with the historical region of Carpathian Ruthenia. Its administrative centre is the city of Uzhhorod, Other major cities within the oblast include Mukachevo, Khust, Berehove, and Chop, the last of which is home to railroad transport infrastructure. Bohdan ( uk, Богдан; hu, Tiszabogdány) is a village in Rakhiv Raion, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. It is the centre of Bohdan rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Its population is 3,971 (). History Mentions of Bohdan date back to the early 17th century. The village's original population largely comprised runaway criminals and ethnic Ukrainians whose homes had been taken over by German colonists, as well as others who had migrated to be closer to their work.
