Anna Boberg
Anna Katarina Boberg, née Scholander, (3 December 1864 – 27 January 1935) was a Swedish artist married to prominent architect Ferdinand Boberg. Anna Scholander was the daughter of architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander and the granddaughter of Axel Nyström. Boberg was a person of many artistic pursuits; initially she worked with ceramics and textiles (among other things she created "the Peacock vase" for Rörstrand) and besides painting she also worked with set design and writing, for example. She was of an artistic family, but never received any formal training in the arts, and is considered an autodidact. Many of her paintings are of northern Norway, which became Boberg's main focus for many years after a trip there in 1901. These works were not received very well in Sweden, but did much better in Paris. Carina Boberg
Carina Helen Boberg (12 May 1952 – 31 May 2020) was a Swedish actress, perhaps best known for her starring role in the TV4 comedy series ''Rena Rama Rolf'' as "Bettan" opposite Lasse Brandeby. Boberg was born in Gothenburg, where she studied acting at the Gothenburg Theatre Academy. She was hired by Gothenburg City Theatre after her graduation in 1983, and was part of the permanent acting staff at that theatre from 1983 until 2019. Carl Boberg
Carl Gustav Boberg (16 August 1859 – 7 January 1940, aged 80) was a Swedish poet and elected official, best known for writing the Swedish language poem "O Store Gud" (O Great God) from which the English language hymn "How Great Thou Art" is derived. Biographical details Born in Mönsterås, Kalmar County in Småland, Boberg was a carpenter's son, worked briefly as a sailor, and served as a lay minister in the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden. He was the editor of a weekly Christian newspaper, ''Sanningsvittnet'' (Witness of the Truth), from 1890 until 1916. Boberg served in the Riksdag for 20 years from 1912 to 1931. Einer Boberg
Einer Boberg (1935 – October 1, 1995) was a Danish-Canadian speech pathologist who specialized in the study of stuttering and its treatment. From 1971 to 1995, he was a Professor of Speech Pathology in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton Canada. In 1986, together with Deborah Kully, he founded the Institute for Stuttering Treatment and Research (ISTAR). He was particularly known for his advocacy of post-treatment maintenance of fluency, including the benefits of self-help groups. In 1991, he became the first President of the International Fluency Association. Ferdinand Boberg
Gustaf Ferdinand Boberg (11 April 1860 – 7 May 1946) was a Swedish architect. Biography Boberg was born in Falun. He became one of the most productive and prominent architects of Stockholm around the turn of the 20th century. Among his most famous work is an electrical plant at Björns Trädgård in Stockholm, that was inspired by Middle Eastern architecture. The building was converted in the late nineties and is now the Stockholm Mosque. He also designed Nordiska Kompaniet, the most prominent department store in Stockholm and Rosenbad which today houses the Swedish government chancellery. After retiring as an architect in 1915, Boberg and his wife Anna traveled around Sweden with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage through a book of drawings. Over 3,000 sketches were made and around 1,000 drawings were published in the volume ''Svenska bilder'' (“Swedish Images”). Boberg died in Stockholm, aged 86. Inger Margrethe Boberg
Inger Margrethe Boberg (July 23, 1900 – May 9, 1957) was a Danish folklore researcher and writer. She studied philology at the University of Copenhagen and received her Master's degree in 1925. In 1927, she stayed at Lund University with the folklore professor Carl Wilhelm von Sydow. In 1934, she obtained the Dr. Phil. degree in folkloristics as the first woman in Denmark. From 1932 to her death, she was archivist at the Danish Folklore archive (''Dansk Folkemindesamling''). However, during many years, she had to occasionally take temporary jobs as a school teacher in order to provide a living for herself. Not until 1952, when she had a long-established name in international folkloristics, she obtained a steady position. In 1945, she received the Tagea Brandt Rejselegat. Jørgen Boberg (24 October 1940 – 24 August 2009) was a self-taught Surrealist Danish painter and illustrator. Biography Born in Roskilde, Boberg was a self-taught artist. After first exhibiting at the Artists Autumn Exhibition (''Kunstneres Efterårsudstilling'') in 1962, he was associated with Copenhagen's Galleri Passepartout and became a founding member of the Passepartout artists association in 1964. When in Paris in the mid-1960s, he became acquainted with Surrealistic painting which he interpreted in his own style. Thomas Boberg (born 5 May 1960 in Roskilde) is a Danish poet and travel writing, travel writer. Since his debut in 1984 he has received extensive recognition for his contribution to Danish literature. Since 2018 member of The Danish Academy (Det Danske Akademi). Boberg lived in Peru for several years and has traveled widely in Latin America and Africa. Many of his works stem from his travels in South and Central America, often focusing on the exploited and poor.
