Bobby Smith (running Back)
Robert Lee Smith (born May 18, 1942) is an American former professional football player who was a halfback in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for the North Texas Mean Green, he was selected in 1964 by both the AFL's Buffalo Bills and the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. He chose to play for the Bills, and in his rookie season he averaged 4.9 yards per attempt. He won two consecutive AFL championships in 1964 and 1965 with the Bills, before leaving the AFL for the NFL. He joined the Steelers for the 1966 NFL season and played a single season in Pittsburgh. Billy Shaw
William Lewis Shaw (born December 15, 1938) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard for the Buffalo Bills in the American Football League (AFL). After playing college football with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, he was drafted by the Bills. Shaw was the prototypical "pulling guard" who despite his size held his own against much bigger defensive linemen like Ernie Ladd, Earl Faison and Buck Buchanan. He won three straight Eastern Division titles and two American Football League championships in 1964 and 1965 with Buffalo. Shaw was a first-team All-American Football League selection four times (1963–1966) and second-team All-AFL in 1968 and 1969. He played in eight American Football League All-Star Games and was named to the All-Time All-AFL Team. He made the All-Decade All-pro football team of the 1960s. 1966 NFL Season
The 1966 NFL season was the 47th regular season of the National Football League, and the first season in which the Super Bowl was played, though it was called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game. The league expanded to 15 teams with the addition of the Atlanta Falcons, making a bye necessary each week for one team. This was the last season that the NFL was divided only into two separate conferences, and only one postseason round was played, that being between the two conference champions. The season concluded with the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game; the NFL champion Green Bay Packers defeated the AFL's Kansas City Chiefs at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on January 15, 1967.
