Bobby Marshall (footballer, Born 1876)
Robert Grant Marshall (1876 – 1962) was a Scottish association football, footballer who played as an outside-right, notably for Liverpool F.C., Liverpool and Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth. Marshall started his career in his native Scotland with Leith Athletic F.C., Leith Athletic. He left the club in 1897 to transfer to Liverpool, of the English Football League, English First Division.Matthews (2006), pp. 178–9 Marshall struggled to establish himself as a regular at the club and, in 1899, transferred to Portsmouth. He went on to make 131 appearances, scoring 19 goals and helping the side win the Southern Football League in the 1901–02 Southern Football League, 1901–02 season. He was unrelated to John Marshall (Third Lanark footballer), John Marshall, who scored for Third Lanark A.C., Third Lanark in the 1889 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic F.C., Celtic. Bobby Marshall (footballer, Born 1903)
Robert Samuel Marshall (3 April 1903 – 27 October 1966) was an English professional footballer who played for Sunderland, Manchester City and Stockport County. Marshall started his career with local team Hucknall Olympic. In 1920 he transferred to Sunderland of the First Division, the highest level of English football. He played as an inside forward, and was known for his control and goalscoring ability. In both the 1924–25 and 1926–27 seasons he scored nineteen goals, including two hat tricks in consecutive matches in 1927. During Marshall's time at Sunderland the club finished third three times, but did not win any trophies. On 1 March 1928 he transferred to Manchester City, who were in Division Two. With Marshall in the side Manchester City lost just two of their remaining fourteen matches, and were promoted as champions. Bobby Marshall (also Simpson and Morgan) is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Nicolle Dickson. She was introduced in the pilot episode by executive producer Alan Bateman. Nearly four hundred actresses auditioned to play Bobby, with Dickson taking the role.
