Bobby Hogg (footballer, Born 1914)
Robert Brown Hogg (born 10 May 1914 – 15 April 1975) was a Scottish football player and manager. He was mainly associated with Celtic, for which he made 575 appearances in all competitions between 1932 and 1948 (including over 200 across seven unofficial wartime seasons), winning two Scottish League titles ( 1935–36 and 1937–38), two Scottish Cups ( 1932–33 and 1936–37), plus the Coronation Cup in 1938. After leaving Celtic in 1948, he became player/manager of Alloa Athletic for a short spell. Hogg represented Scotland once, in a 3–1 victory against Czechoslovakia in 1937. He was also selected six times by the Scottish Football League XI between 1934 and 1939. Coronation Cup (football)
The Coronation Cup was a one-off football tournament to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, between four English and four Scottish clubs, held in Glasgow in May 1953. This tournament, like the Empire Exhibition Trophy, was held in very high regard by football clubs, as at the time it allowed teams to test themselves against teams from another country in the days before European football. Celtic and Hibernian met in the final at Hampden Park, Celtic coming out the winners 2–0 before 117,000 spectators. Celtic's victory meant that they became the unofficial champions of Britain. George Walker (born 24 May 1909) was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre half for St Mirren, Notts County, Crystal Palace, Watford and Scotland. He made 102 Football League appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring once, between June 1936 and July 1939.
