Bobby Browne (born 9 June 1962 in Dublin) is a former Irish footballer and manager. He played in the League of Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s, mainly with Shelbourne F.C., Shelbourne. He played for Shamrock Rovers making three total appearances (two in the league) in the 1984/85 season. League Of Ireland Cup
The League of Ireland Cup ( ga, Corn Sraithe na hÉireann), also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', is an annual knockout competition in men's football in the Republic of Ireland. It is contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Republic of Ireland football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup. It has had several formats since its inception and has been a knock-out competition since 2005. As there is no European qualification for winners of the League of Ireland Cup, it has a lower status than the FAI Cup and is therefore seen as the third most important trophy in the Irish playing season. PFAI
The Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland (PFAI) is the representative body for professional and semi-professional footballers in Republic of Ireland. Players from all nationalities in the League of Ireland are represented, not just Irish players. It is a member of FIFPro; the international body for similar organisations, and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. The PFAI's current chairman is Brendan Clarke. The highest profile activities of the PFAI is the annual Players' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards. These winners of these awards are voted for by member players and members cannot vote for one of their clubmates. Paul McGrath is currently the only man to win the award in Ireland and also win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award in England. Drogheda United Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Dhroichead Átha Aontaithe) is a semi-professional Irish association football club based in Drogheda, County Louth playing in the League of Ireland Premier Division. The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required. For the 2010–11 and 2011-12 seasons, only the winners took part. The current Shield champions are Larne, who beat Linfield 1–0 in the 2021–22 final, winning the trophy for a second successive year.
