Bob Wilson (footballer, Born 1943)
Robert John Wilson (23 May 1943 – 3 October 2020) was an English professional footballer. Career Born in Birmingham, Wilson began his career with Aston Villa as a youth player. He went on to make nine league appearances for the club before he was sold to Cardiff City in August 1964 as manager Jimmy Scoular's first signing for a fee of £2,000. In his first season at the club he helped the side win the Welsh Cup and reach the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners Cup, where they were knocked out by Real Zaragoza. The following season the club reached the semi-finals of the League Cup against West Ham United. Wilson was dropped after conceding five goals in the first leg, only for his replacement to also concede five in the second leg. It was during this season that Wilson helped the club reach the semi-final of the Cup Winners Cup; the furthest Cardiff have ever been in a European competition, where they were defeated by Hamburg. Exeter
Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. In Roman Britain, Exeter was established as the base of Legio II Augusta under the personal command of Vespasian. Exeter became a religious centre in the Middle Ages. David Lyn Davies (born 29 September 1947) is a Welsh former professional footballer and Wales under-23 international. During his career he made 19 appearances in the Football League. Career Born in Neath, Davies began his career at Cardiff City, signing a professional deal in October 1965. After making eleven appearances during the 1965–66 season, he was brought back into the first team in September 1966 but conceded 24 goals in a five-game spell, including 7–1 defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle. During this spell he also made his debut for the Wales under-23 side and suffered another heavy defeat in an 8–0 loss to England under-23s at Molineux Stadium. With his confidence shattered, Davies left the club, moving into non-league football with spells at Hereford United and Llanelli, where he helped the club win the Welsh League during the 1970–71 season, before returning to The Football League with Swansea City. Dilwyn E. John (born 3 June 1944) is a Welsh former professional footballer and amateur snooker player. He made more than 160 appearances in The Football League for Cardiff City and Swansea City. Football career A goalkeeper, John began his career at Cardiff City, making his debut at the age of seventeen in September 1961 during a 3–2 win over Chelsea. He struggled to maintain the number one spot and found himself in and out of the Cardiff side.
