Bob Hall is a former American motoring journalist best known for his work as an automotive product planner. Hall is best known as a founder member of the development team who produced the Mazda MX-5. Career Automotive journalism Hall started his career as a journalist for Motor Trend. Development of the Mazda MX-5 Hall's first blackboard sketch of a two-seater convertible car in the early 1980s resulted in him being offered a job by Mazda Motors although he has no formal engineering qualifications. Hall is considered to be the "biological father" of the MX-5 (known in the United States as the Miata), although he was not responsible for the engineering and styling work that brought it to production. Bob Hall was the Executive Director of Democracy North Carolina. Career Since the 1960s, Bob Hall has worked with grassroots groups across the Southern United States as an organizer, researcher, investigative reporter, coalition leader and nonprofit executive director. He has worked on a variety of the topics, from labor rights to environmental justice to voting rights and campaign finance reform. Hall was the founding editor of '' Southern Exposure'', the award-winning journal of the Institute for Southern Studies, where he worked for 25 years. He received a MacArthur Foundation “genius award” for using strategic research to help miners, textile workers, poultry growers, utility customers and others “negotiate with corporations.” He has also published books and articles on contemporary Southern politics and culture. Robert 'Bob' Hall (born 13 June 1942 in West Byfleet, Surrey, England), is an English boogie-woogie pianist. A long-time collaborator of Alexis Korner, he also performed regularly with bottleneck bluesman Dave Kelly and his sister, Jo Ann Kelly. Career Founder member of several British blues bands including The Groundhogs, Tramp, The Sunflower Blues Band and The De Luxe Blues Band, Hall has worked and recorded with artists such as Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Mick Fleetwood, of Fleetwood Mac, and is also a long serving member of Savoy Brown, and guests with The Blues Band, featuring Paul Jones, Dave Kelly and Tom McGuinness. Robert "Bob" Hall (October 16, 1944) is an American comics artist and writer as well as a playwright and theatre director. He is the co-creator of the West Coast Avengers for Marvel Comics and has worked on such series as '' Armed and Dangerous'' and '' Shadowman'', which he both drew and wrote for Valiant Comics. Robert Lee Hall III, known as Bob Hall (born March 5, 1942), is an American politician who is a Republican member of the Texas State Senate. Aligned with the Tea Party movement, he succeeded fellow Republican Bob Deuell, whom he unseated by three hundred votes in the Republican runoff election held on May 27, 2014. Early life and education Hall graduated in 1960 from George D. Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida. In 1964, Hall received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from The Citadel. Political career Hall ran against incumbent State Senator Bob Deuell in 2012 but failed to meet constitutional residency requirements. He ran again in 2014. He unseated Deuell in a Republican primary runoff election, 18,230 votes (50.4 percent) to 17,930 (49.6 percent).
