Robert Edwin Charles (24 July 193617 April 2016) was an Australian politician. He was a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives from March 1990 to October 2004, representing the Division of La Trobe, Victoria. The Division of La Trobe is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. It is located in the outer eastern/south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It includes the suburbs of Berwick, Beaconsfield, Officer and Pakenham, and the towns of Gembrook, Emerald and Cockatoo. Geography Since 1984, federal electoral division boundaries in Australia have been determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission.
