Blazing The Crop
''Blazing the Crop'' is a DJ mix album, mixed by Rae & Christian. It was released by Mixmag Live in association with their publishing company DMC Publishing in 1999 in the UK. An unmixed vinyl version was also released. In the United States, the CD was released by Mixmag's American sister company Mixer via Moonshine Music label in 2000. It was re-released in 2002 by the Razor & Tie label for, under the alternative title ''Mixer Presents: Rewind by Rae & Christian'', with a different sleeve. On their second studio album, Sleepwalking (2001), the opening track was entitled "Blazing the Crop". Rae & Christian are an English production duo, consisting of Mark Rae and Steve Christian. They are also founders of the Grand Central Records label. History In 1995, Mark Rae fulfilled a long-term dream by founding Grand Central Records in Manchester. He first met sound engineer and producer Steve Christian when they both utilised the same rehearsal space in Ducie House in the Northern Quarter of Manchester. The first meeting took place when Christian, who is the production strength of the duo, walked past Rae's studio and informed him that his music was out of key. Swollen Members
Swollen Members is a Canadian hip hop group from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting mainly of Madchild and Prevail. Frequent collaborators include vocalist Moka Only (who was actually a member of the group for a short period of time in the mid-1990s when the group was formed, and then again from 2002 to 2005) along with the other former members Easy Roc & Zodak who were only in the group for a few years and producer Rob the Viking, an official group member since 2002. Young-Holt Unlimited (also known as Young-Holt Trio), were a U.S. soul and jazz instrumental musical ensemble from Chicago, Illinois, United States. Drummer Isaac "Redd" Holt and bassist Eldee Young, formerly members of Ramsey Lewis' jazz trio, formed a new outfit called the Young-Holt Trio with pianist Don Walker in 1966. They met with modest success, including the minor hit "Wack-Wack", which charted at number 40 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. In 1968, the group renamed itself Young-Holt Unlimited, and replaced Walker with Ken Chaney. Tuff Crew is a hip hop group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dubbed "Philly's first Rap Supergroup". Members include Ice Dog, L. A. Kid, Tone Love, Monty G, and DJ Too Tuff. Henry Smithson (born 13 September 1978), best known by his stage name Riton ( ), is an English electronic music DJ and producer from Newcastle upon Tyne. Early life and education Smithson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne. The name ''Riton'' is French slang for "Henry". He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Mr Scruff
Andrew Carthy (born 10 February 1972), better known by his stage name Mr. Scruff, is an English record producer and DJ. He lives in Stretford, Greater Manchester and studied fine art at the Psalter Lane campus of Sheffield Hallam University. Before he could make a living from his music alone, he worked as a shelf stocker in the Hazel Grove branch of Kwik Save. Anthony Hill, known by his stage name YZ, and alias Ali Sa'id Nur al-Din, is an American rapper from Trenton, New Jersey.
