Blandine L'Hirondel (born 3 March 1991) is a French trail runner. In 2019, she won the women's event at the 2019 Trail World Championships The 2019 Trail World Championships was the ninth edition of the global trail running competition, organised by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) and International Trail Running Association (ITRA). It was held on 8 June 2019 in ... held in Miranda do Corvo, Portugal. In that same year, she also won the bronze medal in her event at the 2019 World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships held in Villa La Angostura, Argentina. In 2020, she won the women's race at the 2020 French Mountain Running Championships. In 2022 she won CCC at UTMB and the 2021 Trail World Championships held in November 2022 in Thailand. WMRA Trail World Championships
WMRA is a public-radio formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Harrisonburg, Virginia. It is the NPR member station for the central Shenandoah Valley. Combined with its full-power repeaters and low-power translators, it serves much of west-central Virginia from Winchester to Lexington as well as the Charlottesville area. WMRA is owned and operated by James Madison University. History WMRA signed on in the summer of 1969, broadcasting on 91.1 MHz with 10 watts. The transmitter was at 851 South Main Street in Harrisonburg and the studios were at Alumni Hall on the campus of what was then Madison College. WMRA's signal was sufficient to cover the city of Harrisonburg proper. Trail Running
Trail running is a sport-activity which combines running, and, where there are steep gradients, hiking, that is run "on any unpaved surface". It is similar to both mountain and fell running (also known as hill running). Mountain running may, however, include paved sections. Trail running normally takes place in warm climates, or on good paths, or tracks which are relatively easy to follow, and does not necessarily involve the significant amounts of ascent, or need for navigating skills, normal in fell running. Unlike road running and track running it generally takes place on hiking trails, often in mountainous terrain, where there can be much larger ascents and descents. It is difficult to definitively distinguish trail running from cross country running. In general, however, cross country is an IAAF-governed discipline that is typically raced over shorter distances. 2019 Trail World Championships
The 2019 Trail World Championships was the ninth edition of the global trail running competition, organised by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) and International Trail Running Association (ITRA). It was held on 8 June 2019 in Miranda do Corvo, Portugal. The event was hosted by the annual ''Ultra Trilhos dos Abutres'' (Vultures Trail) and featured a course of 44 km in distance with uphills totalling 2120 m and downhills totalling 1970 m. The men's individual race was won by Great Britain's Jonathan Albon and the women's individual race was won by France's Blandine L'Hirondel.
