Blair Soper
Blair Earle Soper (born 26 October 1991) is a New Zealand cricketer who has played for Otago in top-level matches. Soper was born at Dunedin in 1991 and grew up in Southland before moving to as a child Dunedin due to his father, Ewan's, work. He was educated at Otago Boys' High School. Dunedin
Dunedin ( ; mi, Ōtepoti) is the second-largest city in the South Island of New Zealand (after Christchurch), and the principal city of the Otago region. Plunket Shield
New Zealand has had a domestic first-class cricket championship since the 1906–07 season. Since the 2009–10 season it has been known by its original name of the Plunket Shield. History The Plunket Shield competition was instigated in October 1906 with the donation of a shield by William Plunket, 5th Baron Plunket, who was the Governor-General of New Zealand from 1904 to 1910. For the 1906–07 inaugural season, the Shield was allotted by the New Zealand Cricket Council "to the Association whose representative team it considers to have the best record for the season". ''The New Zealand Herald'' is a daily newspaper published in Auckland, New Zealand, owned by New Zealand Media and Entertainment, and considered a newspaper of record for New Zealand. Otago Polytechnic
Otago Polytechnic was a public New Zealand tertiary education institute, centred in Dunedin with additional campuses in Cromwell and Auckland. Otago Polytechnic provided career-focused education and training, offering a range of New Zealand accredited postgraduate qualifications, degrees, diplomas and certificates at levels 2–10. In November 2022, it was formally merged into the new national mega polytechnic Te Pūkenga (the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology), ending its existence as an independent entity. Michael Rae (born 13 June 1995) is a New Zealand first-class cricketer who plays for Canterbury cricket team, Canterbury. He made his List A cricket, List A debut for New Zealand national cricket team, New Zealand XI Pakistani cricket team in New Zealand in 2017–18, against Pakistan on 3 January 2018. 2019–20 Ford Trophy
The 2019–20 Ford Trophy was the 49th season of The Ford Trophy, the List A cricket tournament in New Zealand. It was the ninth in a sponsorship deal between New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company. It took place between November 2019 and February 2020. As per the previous edition of the competition, the tournament featured ten rounds of matches. Wellington were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Auckland advanced directly to the final, with Canterbury and Otago progressing to the elimination final. In the elimination final, Otago beat Canterbury by six runs to progress to the final. In the final, Auckland beat Otago by two wickets to win the tournament. List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
