Black and Greene Records is an independent record label that was founded in 2004 by David Greene and Jeremy Black (Apollo Sunshine). Black & Greene Records is located and operated out of Los Angeles, California(September 21, 2007). "Cut a Drug Rug", ''Boston Herald'', p. E8. and San Francisco. The label works exclusively with Coyote Hearing Studios co-run by Jeremy Black. The label's bands have been showcased on HBO's ''Eastbound & Down'' and '' 90210''. Apollo Sunshine
Apollo Sunshine was an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. History Founding Sam Cohen, Jesse Gallagher, and Jeremy Black originally met in 1997 in Boston, where the three were attending a Berklee College of Music summer performance program. Albums The band released their first album, ''Katonah'', in 2003 on SpinART records. The album was recorded in Katonah, New York in a barn which the band converted into a studio, and produced by Andy Edelstein, a professor at Berklee. The first single, " I Was on the Moon", was released in 2003. ''The New York Times'' described their sound as "bouncy 60's-style melodies crack wide open, breaking into outbursts of pummeling and feedback before jumping back into the tune. The ''Boston Herald'' is an American daily newspaper whose primary market is Boston, Massachusetts, and its surrounding area. It was founded in 1846 and is one of the oldest daily newspapers in the United States. It has been awarded eight Pulitzer Prizes in its history, including four for editorial writing and three for photography before it was converted to tabloid format in 1981. ''Eastbound & Down'' is an American sports comedy television series that was broadcast on HBO, and created by Ben Best, Jody Hill, and Danny McBride. It stars McBride as Kenny Powers, a former professional baseball pitcher who, after a career downturn in the major leagues, is forced to return to his hometown middle school in Shelby, North Carolina, as a substitute physical education teacher. White Flight (band)
White Flight is the solo project of Justin Roelofs, longtime musician and former singer/songwriter/guitarist for The Anniversary. Roelofs recorded a self-titled debut album at both a former neighbor and long-time childhood friend's house in Overland Park, Kansas and several locations around Lawrence, Kansas. Background "White Flight" is an assembly of sounds, both electronic and vocal. Roelofs recorded the sounds shortly after returning from what he describes as an enlightening exploration of traditional medicinal and hallucinogenic plants in the jungle of Peru. Roelofs had never performed any of the project's music live and left the United States prior to the album's release. He has subsequently returned and performed live as White Flight. Bryan Scary
Bryan Scary (born Bryan Treitler) is an American musician. Career Scary's career in music began in Brooklyn, New York City. He received a degree in film production from New York University in 2005. As a film student, Scary wrote and directed several student films including ''Sunset Town'' in 2003, and ''The Gun Play'' in 2005. His musical debut and first album, '' The Shredding Tears'', was released by Black and Greene Records on October 31, 2006. Scary played all instruments on the album save for the drums, which were played by Jeremy Black of Apollo Sunshine. In live performance Bryan Scary plays with his band, "The Shredding Tears." Self Righteous Brothers
Self Righteous Brothers is the mainly acoustic, alternative rock music, side-project of Australian punk rockers, Frenzal Rhomb's lead singer Jason Whalley and guitarist, Lindsay McDougall which formed in 2004. Inspired by American band, the Frogs, their music is humorous and often explicit. They released an album, ''Love Songs for the Wrong at Heart'', in 2004 and was re-released in March 2005 via Shock Records. The group's members were called "insensitive" by the South Australian Tourism Commission for the album track, "There's no Town Like Snowtown", which refers to the infamous bodies-in-barrels murders and are associated with the South Australian town of that name. ''Flight of the Knife'' is the second album by the Brooklyn area indie rock artist Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears.
