Black Sun (Ra Album)
''Black Sun'' is the third studio album from the alternative metal band Ra, released on September 23, 2008. " Broken Hearted Soul" was released as a single on Christmas Day 2007, later becoming available on iTunes on June 17, 2008. ''Black Sun'' was released to iTunes on September 16, 2008. Some retailers did not carry this album due to distribution problems (unverified). The album reached #193 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also reached #2 on Heatseekers Albums, and #30 on Independent Albums. ''Black Sun'' has sold more than 20,000 copies, while its single "Broken Hearted Soul" has sold more than 18,000. Background "'Raw' is actually released with no contract but the band gives Cement shoes the benefit of the doubt. 14 months later there is neither a contract nor is there a follow up studio album. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Daniel "Sahaj" Ticotin (born April 5, 1969) is an American musician, vocalist, guitarist, record producer, and lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the alternative metal bands Raand Meytal. Biography Sahaj was born to a Puerto Rican mother and a Russian-Jewish father, the brother of motion picture and television actress, Rachel Ticotin. During a pilgrimage to India in 1992, he studied meditation and was given the name "Sahaj". He currently lives in Woodland Hills, California, where he produces and composes for various artists. ''Raw'' is a 2006 live album by alternative metal band Ra. Songs are taken from their former albums ''From One'', and ''Duality''. "Don't Turn Away" is a newly recorded track and is also included in their 2008 album ''Black Sun''. Vocalist Sahaj Ticotin broke the record for the longest single note for a male vocalist in a song, having held a high B for 24 seconds during "Skorn". Sahaj overtook the previous record of 20.2 seconds which was held by Morten Harket in his song "Summer Moved On". Ra released an e-card on September 12, 2006, where the song "Don't Turn Away" could be streamed. The entire album of ''Raw'' can be downloaded for free on Ra's website. ''Black Sheep'' is a rarities album by American alternative metal band Ra, being their fifth release total, including their live album. It includes a collection of B-sides and demos that go back to 1994. Ra's newest single "Supernova" is featured on the album; "Supernova" was digitally released on June 9, 2009. ''Black Sheep'' was digitally released on iTunes, but was never released for physical purchasing in retail stores. The only previously released song is "Crazy Little Voices". It was originally released in 1999 as part of '' The Rage: Carrie 2'' Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Broken Hearted Soul
"Broken Hearted Soul" is a single by Ra from the album '' Black Sun'', released on Christmas Day of 2007. On the same day, it was available for a free download on Ra's Myspace for only 24 hours. The single was available on iTunes as of June 17, 2008. "Broken Hearted Soul" received a double feature on the iTunes rock homepage and downloaded 8,000 singles by album launch. It also reached #2 on Heatseekers National chart, and #38 on R&R Active Rock. Sahaj said: "'Broken Hearted Soul' is one of the best songs I have ever written".
