Biķernieki Complex Sports Base
Biķernieki Complex Sports Base is a racing circuit and cross-country skiing course in the Biķernieki Forest in Riga. Adjacent to the racing circuit is the Riga Speedway Stadium. History In 1962, the design of the track was started. Eduardu Kiopi was appointed director of the sports complex, and the project manager was Gunars Binde. A group of specialists were also invited: Peter Dzenis, Janis Roops, Karlis Rība and Vilnis Vasulis. Riga

Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship
The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship was the tenth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, an auto racing championship recognized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallycross. Johan Kristoffersson won his sixth drivers championship at round 9 in Hong Kong. Kristoffersson Motorsport entered as the reigning teams champions. Riga Speedway Stadium
The Riga Speedway Stadium or the Biķernieki Speedway Stadium is a multi-use stadium in the Eastern part of Riga, Latvia. The stadium is the venue for the 2023 World Championship round known as the Speedway Grand Prix of Latvia and the Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship. The speedway track which is adjacent to the Biķernieki Complex Sports Base was first constructed in 1976 and held several editions of the Soviet Union Speedway Championship before falling into disrepair. However, in 2014 the track was renovated and has even hosted a drift race car meeting that normally tales place on the larger adjacent circuit. The Cup of Peace and Friendship (also Friendship of Socialist Countries Cup) was the auto racing championship series dedicated to Eastern Bloc drivers between 1963 and 1990. History The series was created in 1963 on the initiative of Lech Tulak and Jerzy Jankowski from Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation. The main idea of the cup was unification of auto racing in Eastern Bloc countries so there was also classification of national teams. Initially the championship was held only in the category of single seaters. Heinz Melkus and East Germany were the first champions.
