Fuel is an American rock band formed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, by guitarist-songwriter Carl Bell in 1989. Carl William Bell (born January 9, 1967) is an American songwriter, record producer, arranger, engineer, and mixer. He founded the multi-platinum selling hard rock band Fuel in 1989, serving as the principal lyricist, lead guitarist, and record producer for the band during its inception and peak commercial success. He has written singles such as " Shimmer", "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)", and " Bad Day" as well as many other songs. "Shimmer" is a song by American alternative rock group Fuel. It was released in March 1998 as lead single from their debut album ''Sunburn''. Written by Carl Bell, the single peaked at number two on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks charts, number 11 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, number 37 on the Adult Top 40 chart and at number 42 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100.
