Bishop Of Blackburn
The Bishop of Blackburn is the Ordinary of the Church of England Diocese of Blackburn in the Province of York. The diocese covers much of the county of Lancashire and has its see in the town of Blackburn, where the seat of the diocese is located at the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary. Despite having a cathedral Blackburn is not a city. The office has existed since the foundation of the see from part of the Diocese of Manchester in 1926 under George V. The See is currently vacant following the retirement of Julian Henderson on 31 August 2022; in the vacancy, Philip North, the Bishop suffragan of Burnley, is also acting diocesan bishop. Bev Mason
Beverley Anne Mason (called Bev) is a British Anglican bishop. Since 2018, she has served as the Bishop of Warrington, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Liverpool. She was the Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven in the Diocese of Leeds from 2016 to 2018. Early life and education Mason was born in Germany. She trained for ordained ministry at Trinity College, Bristol, an evangelical Anglican theological college. During this time she also studied theology, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 2000. After a further year of training, she left theological college to be ordained. Ordained ministry Mason was ordained in the Church of England as a deacon in 2001 and as a priest in 2003. She served curacies at St Paul's Church, Rusthall (2001 to 2002) and St Margaret's Church, Rainham (2002 to 2005) in the Diocese of Rochester. David Jennings (bishop)
David Willfred Michael Jennings (born 13 July 1944) was the Anglican Bishop of Warrington from 2000 until he resigned with effect from 31 October 2009. Education Jennings was educated at Radley College and trained for the priesthood at King's College London before embarking on a curacy at Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool. Career Jennings was made a deacon at Trinity 1967 (21 May) by Laurie Brown, Bishop of Warrington, at St Nicholas, Blundellsands and ordained a priest at Michaelmas 1968 (29 September) by Stuart Blanch, Bishop of Liverpool, at Liverpool Cathedral. After a further curacy at Christchurch Priory he became an incumbent at Hythe in 1969. The Bishop of Ripon was a diocesan bishop's title which took its name after the city of Ripon in North Yorkshire, England. History Though one ancient Bishop of Ripon is known, the modern see of Ripon was established in 1836 from parts of the dioceses of Chester and York. In the same year, the collegiate church in Ripon was raised to the status of cathedral church. From 1905, the bishops of Ripon were assisted by the suffragan bishops of Knaresborough in overseeing the diocese. The Bishop of Bath and Wells heads the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells in the Province of Canterbury in England.
