The Bishop of Winchester is the diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Winchester in the Church of England. The bishop's seat (''cathedra'') is at Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire. Christ Church, Winchester is a Church of England parish church in Winchester, England. There are approximately 475 members on the electoral roll. It is also in partnership with the diocese of Muhubura and with St Nicholas Church in Kalerwe, Kampala, both in Uganda. The Bishop of Dover is an episcopal title used by a suffragan bishop of the Church of England Diocese of Canterbury, England. The title takes its name after the town of Dover in Kent. The Bishop of Dover holds the additional title of "Bishop in Canterbury" and is empowered to act almost as if the Bishop of Dover were the diocesan bishop of Canterbury, since the actual diocesan bishop (the Archbishop of Canterbury) is based at Lambeth Palace in London, and thus is frequently away from the diocese, fulfilling national and international duties. Trevor Willmott
Trevor Willmott (born 29 March 1950) is a British retired bishop in the Church of England. He served as Bishop of Basingstoke (one of two suffragan bishops in the Diocese of Winchester) from 2002 to 2009 and then Bishop of Dover (''de facto'' diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Canterbury) from 2010 until his retirement in 2019. In retirement, he remains bishop for the Channel Islands. Early life and education Willmott undertook an undergraduate degree at St Peter's College, Oxford. The Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, commonly known as the Bishop in Europe, is the ordinary of the Church of England's Diocese in Europe in the Province of Canterbury. Overview The diocese provides the ministry of Anglican chaplains, not only in the area of Gibraltar in British jurisdiction but also in all of mainland Europe, Morocco and the territory of the former Soviet Union. Geoffrey Rowell
Douglas Geoffrey Rowell (; 13 February 1943 – 11 June 2017) was an Anglican bishop, who served as Bishop of Basingstoke and then as the third Bishop in Europe until his retirement on 8 November 2013. Following his retirement he ministered as an assistant bishop in the Diocese of Chichester (from 2013) and in the Diocese of Portsmouth (from 2015). He died in the early morning of Trinity Sunday, 11 June 2017. Education Rowell was educated at Winchester College and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He received the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (1964), Master of Arts (1968), and Doctor of Philosophy (1968) from Cambridge University and was incorporated MA and DPhil at Oxford University. Michael Manktelow
Michael Richard John Manktelow (23 September 1927 – 24 July 2017) was an Anglican bishop. He was the suffragan Bishop of Basingstoke from 1977 to 1993 and at the same time a Canon Residentiary of Winchester Cathedral. Manktelow was educated at Whitgift School and Christ's College, Cambridge and was made deacon at Michaelmas 1953 (20 September) and ordained priest the Michaelmas following (19 September 1954) — both times by Maurice Harland, Bishop of Lincoln, at Lincoln Cathedral, before a curacy at Boston, Lincolnshire, after which he was Vicar of Knaresborough. Following this he was Vicar of St. Wilfrid's Church, Harrogate and then, his final appointment before his ordination to the episcopate, Rural Dean of the area. The Bishop of Wakefield was the ordinary of the now-defunct Church of England Diocese of Wakefield in the Province of York. The diocese was based in Wakefield in West Yorkshire, covering the City of Wakefield, Barnsley, Kirklees and Calderdale. The see was centred in the City of Wakefield where the bishop's seat (''cathedra'') was located in the Cathedral Church of All Saints, a parish church elevated to cathedral status in 1888. Colin Clement Walter James (20 September 1926 – 10 December 2009) was an Anglican bishop in the Church of England, successively suffragan Bishop of Basingstoke, then the Bishop of Winchester. Early life and education James was born on 20 September 1926. His father, Canon Charles Clement Hancock James, was also a Church of England clergyman. He was educated at Aldenham School, a private school in Hertfordshire, England. He studied modern history at King's College, Cambridge, and then trained for ordination at Cuddesdon Theological College. Deborah Mary Sellin (born 1 October 1964) is a Church of England priest serving as Bishop of Southampton, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Winchester, and acting as diocesan Bishop of Winchester.
