Biscuit Brothers
''The Biscuit Brothers'' is a half-hour Emmy-award winning public television program produced in Austin, Texas. It was first aired on KLRU in 2004 and then aired nationwide in 2005. The program uses a mixture of live-action, puppetry, and animation to learn cultural communication through country music to children and their parents. The project was created and is produced bAllen Robertson Jerome Schoolar, anDamon Brown The program features include "The Instrument of the Day", "Crazy Classics", and has songs that everyone can sing along with. The Biscuit Brothers have performed live in hundreds of venues across Texas as well - most notably at the Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL Fest) in 2004, 2005, and 2006. They are the musical host of the annual Austin Family Music Festival. The program just aired its sixth season in Fall 2011 and plans to air a seventh in the fall of 2012. KLRU (channel 18), branded on-air as Austin PBS, is a PBS member television station in Austin, Texas, United States, owned by the Capital of Texas Public Telecommunications Council. In 2022, KLRU moved into its "Austin Media Center" studios located on the Austin Community College Highland Campus, which was redeveloped from the former Highland Mall. Austin City Limits Music Festival
The Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on two consecutive three-day weekends. Inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series of the same name, the festival is produced by Austin-based company C3 Presents, which also produces Chicago's Lollapalooza. The ACL Music Festival has eight stages where musical groups from genres including rock, indie, country, folk, electronic, and hip hop perform for fans. The concerts continue from 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the festival with various stages spread out in the park. Approximately 450,000 people attend the festival each year. Dame Evelyn Elizabeth Ann Glennie, (born 19 July 1965) is a Scottish people, Scottish percussionist. She was selected as one of the two laureates for the Polar Music Prize of 2015. Early life Glennie was born in Methlick, Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The Scottish traditional music, indigenous musical traditions of north-east Scotland were important in her development as a musician. Her first instruments were the piano and the clarinet.
