Bipolar (Up Dharma Down Album)
''Bipolar'' is the second album by Filipino independent band Up Dharma Down, released on 24 October 2008 by Terno Recordings. After the critical success of their debut album '' Fragmented'', Up Dharma Down was seemingly pressured to avoid the " sophomore slump"; the band made sure that when ''Bipolar'' was released, they would "all be happy with it." The lyrics of the album are inspired by themes such as painful experiences and "growth". The band did not label ''Bipolar'' with a specific genre; one critic described the album as "genre-defying". Armi Millare and Paul Yap wrote the lyrics to the songs, but all of the music was composed by the whole band. Despite not charting anywhere, the album received positive reviews from critics. Up Dharma Down
UDD, shortened for Up Dharma Down, is a Filipino band formed in Manila in 2004. They have released four albums '' Fragmented'', '' Bipolar'', '' Capacities'' and ''U D D released under independent record label Terno Recordings. In 2005, the band won the coveted ''In the Raw'' Award at the NU 107 Rock Awards as well as ''Best New Artist'' and ''Best Female Award'' for vocalist and keyboardist, Armi Millare, in 2006. In 2008, they were awarded Favorite Indie Artist at the Myx Music Awards. Mark Coles' BBC show tagged them as the Asian band to most likely cross over to North American shores, and has been featured in numerous regional shows together with bands such as Arcade Fire (Canada) and Bloc Party (UK). Tears For Fears
Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, Tears for Fears were associated with the new wave synthesizer bands of the early 1980s, and attained international chart success. The band's debut album, ''The Hurting'' (1983), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, and their first three hit singles – "Mad World", "Change", and "Pale Shelter" – all reached the top five in the UK Singles Chart. Curt Smith
Curt Smith (born 24 June 1961) is a British singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and co-founding member of the pop rock band Tears for Fears along with childhood friend Roland Orzabal. Smith plays bass guitar, has co-written several of the band's songs, and sings lead vocals on the hits "Mad World", "Pale Shelter", "Change", " The Way You Are", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", and "Advice for the Young at Heart". After his departure from Tears for Fears in 1991, Smith pursued a solo career and released his debut studio album, ''Soul on Board'', in 1993. In total, he has released five studio albums and one EP, and has also dabbled in acting. He rejoined Tears for Fears in 2000. Kieran Hebden (born September 1977), known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting UK albums such as '' Rounds'' (2003) and ''Everything Ecstatic'' (2005). In placental mammals, the umbilical cord (also called the navel string, birth cord or ''funiculus umbilicalis'') is a conduit between the developing embryo or fetus and the placenta. Jazz
