Billy Jones (baseball)
Billy Jones in an American college baseball coach. He had served as head coach of the Appalachian State Mountaineers baseball program from 2013 to 2016. He was named to that position prior to the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2013 season. Jones played at Lower Columbia College and Bellevue Bulldogs baseball, Bellevue Community College before spending his final season at Division I Texas State Bobcats baseball, Southwest Texas State. He began coaching as an assistant for two seasons at Green River Gators baseball, Green River Community College being elevated to the head coaching position. After two more seasons, he moved to Oregon State Beavers baseball, Oregon State as an assistant, where he worked with infielders for two years. William John Jones (6 March 1876 – 25 September 1959) was an England international footballer who played as a right half. Jones made over 180 Football League appearances prior to the First World War. Career Jones was born in Brighton and earned one cap for England in a 3–0 win v Ireland at the Dell on 9 March 1901. while playing professionally for Bristol City. Jones began his football career with Long Eaton Rangers before joining Wellington Athletic. He moved into the Second Division of the Football League when he joined Loughborough and was top scorer in 1896–97. Jones was the first player signed for Bristol City by new manager Sam Hollis in 1897. William Henry Jones (24 March 1881 – 15 March 1948), also known as Bullet Jones and the Tipton Smasher, was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward for Small Heath (renamed Birmingham in 1905) in the Football League and for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Southern League. Career Jones was born in Tipton, Staffordshire. He played for Smethwick Town and for Birmingham & District League club Halesowen before turning professional with Small Heath, newly promoted to the Football League First Division, in 1901. He was their leading scorer for four successive seasons, from 1903–04 to 1906–07, and his performances were rewarded in 1904 with selection for the Football League representative team which played against the Irish Football League. William Kenneth Jones (born 26 June 1983) is an English football defender who plays for Bearsted. His league debut came for Orient, in January 2001, when he was just 17. Over the next four seasons he played 79 games for the club, moving to Kidderminster Harriers in January 2005. Unfortunately, though, Kidderminster were relegated from the Football League, and Jones moved to Exeter at the end of the season. Jones started his career at Crewe Alexandra and made his professional debut in October 2003 in a 3–0 win over Derby County. William Thomas Jones (Baptised 28 June 1882Baptism Register, Chirk Parish Church, page 13 – 13 July 1941), also known as William "Lot" Jones and Billy Lot Jones, was a Welsh footballer who played as a forward. Jones was born in Chirk, Denbighshire and was the son of Elizabeth Jones (1864–)Baptism Register, Trefonen Parish Church, page 18 and grandson of Lot Jones (1831–), a coal miner and labourer. He was treated as a son of his grandfather, Lot. His biological uncle was the footballer, Di Jones. William Reese Jones (March 15, 1889 – November 23, 1940) was a tenor who recorded during the 1920s and 1930s, finding fame as a radio star on ''The Happiness Boys'' radio program. Jones worked in such occupations as mining, banking, and blacksmithing before his 1918 recording debut. He recorded with the Cleartone Four, the Crescent Trio, the Harmonizers Quartet and the Premier Quartet, and he performed under a variety of names (Harry Blake, Billy Clarke, Lester George, Duncan Jones, Reese Jones, John Kelley, Dennis O'Malley, William Rees, Victor Roberts, Billy West, William West, and Carlton Williams). After he met Ernie Hare in 1919, they teamed in 1920 when Brunswick executive Gus Haenschen had them sing an accompaniment on a Brunswick Records recording. William Jones (1884–1968), a seasoned veteran of the steam era who established the Wildcat Railroad in Los Gatos, California, was born the son of a teamster in the town of Ben Lomond, California, USA. Jones found employment as an engine wiper at the age of 13 with the narrow gauge South Pacific Coast Railroad at Boulder Creek, California. At 17, Jones was promoted to fireman, and later became an engineer. The South Pacific Coast Railroad, which had been acquired by the Southern Pacific Railroad, was converted to a standard gauge road by 1909. Jones was among the first to work the first standard gauge portions of the line out of San Jose, ultimately advancing to the Coast Daylight run between San Francisco and San Luis Obispo.
