Billie Barry
Lillian "Billie" Barry (27 January 1921 - 30 September 2014) was an Irish singer, dancer and choreographer who founded the Billie Barry Stage School in 1964. Background Billie Barry was born in Drumcondra, Dublin, Ireland, one of 15 children. Her father, John Clarke-Barry, was a respected musician who took part in many orchestras. Her mother was an amateur operatic singer. Lillian, later known as "Billie", began performing as a singer at the age of five. She later joined the Barry Sisters singing group, which toured Ireland and the UK. Career She started the stage school after her husband Paddy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Paddy died the following year. Billie Barry became a household name in Ireland due to the success the school enjoyed. Drumcondra, Dublin
Drumcondra () is a residential area and inner suburb on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. It is administered by Dublin City Council. The River Tolka and the Royal Canal flow through the area. History The village of Drumcondra was the central area of the civil parish of Clonturk, and the two names were used equally for the religious and civil parishes, but the modern suburban district of Drumcondra also encompasses the old Parish of St. Mary. Clonturk had been an alternative name for Drumcondra and the wider area for some time. The Cat and Cage Pub, on the corner of Drumcondra Road and Church Avenue, was the site of an old postal stop and the point at which rebels, during the 1798 rebellion, seized a postal cart in order to signal to others in North County Dublin to revolt. Lisa Lambe is an Irish singer, actress,songwriter and folklorist. Acting career Lisa graduated with a degree in acting from Trinity College Dublin. She was nominated for a Best Actress Award at the Irish Times Theatre Awards for her performance in the lead role of Philomena O Shea in Rough Magic's musical ''Improbable Frequency''. Samantha Tamania Anne Cecilia Mumba (born 18 January 1983) is an Irish singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, fashion model and TV presenter.
