Bill Gunn (Queensland Politician, Born 1920)
William Angus Manson Gunn AM (22 June 1920 – 20 September 2001) was an Australian politician who represented the Queensland Legislative Assembly seat of Somerset from 1972 until 1992. A member of the National Party, he also served as a Minister and Deputy Premier in various Queensland administrations during the 1980s, and was instrumental in establishing the Fitzgerald Inquiry. Early life William Angus Manson Gunn was born in Laidley, Queensland in the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane, the youngest of seven children to Ewen William Gunn and his wife Rosia (née Geismann). He attended Laidley North Primary School and Gatton High School, and played representative rugby league football for Ipswich in the Bulimba Cup competition. Martin James Tenni (4 April 1934 – 20 October 2019) was an Australian politician. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early life Martin Tenni was born on 4 April 1934 in Cairns, the son of Henry Tenni and Francis May, ''née'' Reed. Laidley is a rural town and locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Laidley had a population of 3,808 people. Geography Laidley is situated within the Lockyer Valley of South East Queensland east of the Great Dividing Range and close to the northern foothills of the Main Range. Lionel William "Lin" Powell (born 10 March 1939) is a former Australian politician. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Isis. Early life Powell was born in Maryborough to Lionel Mitchell Powell and Helen Irene, ''née'' West. Lin Powell is a great-grandson of Native Police officer Walter David Taylor Powell. Valmond James "Val" Bird (14 May 1928 – 19 August 2005) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Bird was born at Ingham, Queensland, the son of Walter James Bird and his wife Ruth Elizabeth (née Thornton). He was educated at Ingham State School and after leaving he was a representative for the Golden Fleece Oil Company. He was also the secretary and industrial officer for the Ayr District Canegrowers Executive. On 14 May 1955 Bird married Valma Jean Burns (divorced 1998) and together had three daughters. After he had serious fall in 2001 which left in a coma from which he was not expected to emerge, his daughters discovered they had another sister that Bird fathered in his teen years.
