Trio Galleta was a soul rock band formed in 1969 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. It consisted of Carlos Iturbide (guitar, vocals), Juan Carlos Saporiti "Juancho" (drums) and Anibal Tell 'Lolo' (bass). In 1970, when the trend of singing in English language in Latin America had little acceptance, they released their first album made only of cover versions called ''Estoy Herido'' through Odeon Records, with the track list ranging from "Río Verde" ("Green River") by Creedence Clearwater Revival to "Enciende mi Fuego" ("Light My Fire") by The Doors, under the genre that would become known as soul rock. "It's Too Late" is a song from American singer-songwriter Carole King's second studio album, ''Tapestry'' (1971). Toni Stern wrote the lyrics and King wrote the music. It was released as a single in April 1971 and reached number 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts. Sales were later gold-certified by the RIAA. ''Billboard'' ranked "It's Too Late" and its fellow A-side, "I Feel the Earth Move", as the No. 3 record for 1971. Music and lyrics The lyrics describe the blameless end of a loving relationship. Jerry Jan Ross (May 1, 1933 – October 4, 2017) was an American songwriter, A&R man, record producer, and record label owner. As a writer, his greatest success was with "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," which he co-wrote with his protégé Kenny Gamble. His greatest successes as a producer include " Sunny" by Bobby Hebb, and he also released "Venus" by Shocking Blue in the United States. Jerry produced The Mob on their self-titled first album in 1970. Biography Ross was born in Philadelphia, and grew up with aspirations to be a trumpeter and singer before deciding to become a songwriter and record producer. Bubblegum (also called bubblegum pop) is pop music in a catchy and upbeat style that is considered disposable, contrived, or marketed for children and adolescents. The term also refers to a rock and pop subgenre, originating in the United States in the late 1960s, that evolved from garage rock, novelty songs, and the Brill Building sound, and which was also defined by its target demographic of preteens and young teenagers. Blue-eyed soul (also called white soul) is rhythm and blues (R&B) and soul music performed by white artists. The term was coined in the mid-1960s, to describe white artists whose sound was similar to that of the predominantly-black Motown and Stax record labels.
