Bill Baxter (Victorian Politician)
William Robert Baxter (born 3 November 1946) is a former Australian politician and a former Victorian State President of The Nationals. He was the Nationals member of the Victorian Legislative Council representing North Eastern Province from June 1978 until November 2006 (excepting a four-month break in 1984–85). He also served one term in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1976. Early life Baxter was born and raised in the Nathalia area. He started high school in Nathalia, but completed his secondary schooling at the prestigious Scotch College, Melbourne, where he was a boarder in School House. He then returned to his family property at Picola, near Nathalia, and began working as a farmer and grazier. Around the same time, he began to pursue an interest in politics. Bill Baxter (Queensland Politician)
William Edward Baxter (1907–1978) was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early life William Edward Baxter was born on 29 May 1907 in Chinchilla, Queensland, the son of Catherine Baxter. He attended Chinchilla State School. He married May Reardon on 29 Sep 1929; the couple had 2 daughters. He worked for Queensland Railways as a cleaner and clerk. Politics At the 1953 state election, Baxter successfully contested the electoral district of Norman as a candidate of the Labor and entered the Queensland Legislative Assembly. He held the seat in the 1956 and 1957 elections. At the 1960 election, he successfully contested the neighbouring seat of Hawthorne, which he retained in 1963. He was not pre-selected as the ALP candidate for the 1966 election (Thomas Burton, assistant secretary of the Printing Employees Union was chosen) so he contested as an independent Labor candidate, for which he was expelled from the ALP. ...

Bill Baxter is a French group composed of Joe Cool (drums), Louis Primo (vocals) and Bô Geste (bass). They are particularly known for their 1985 hit single "Embrasse-moi, idiot!". History The group signed with the Virgin label that published their first single "Petit avec des grandes oreilles" in 1982, then the mini-album ''La Belle vie'' (which contains seven songs) in 1983. In 1985, Bill Baxter recorded ''Embrasse-moi, idiot!'', a musical produced by Patrick Timsit, inspired by Billy Wilder's film. The single of the same name was a success during the 1985 summer, reaching number 7 on the French SNEP Singles Chart. In 1987, the single "Bienvenue à Paris" was released, which was a duet with the londonian singer Tippa Irie. In the 1990s, the group decided to devote itself to the audio-visual for the TV program ''Les Guignols de l'Info'', including "Reviens JPP reviens" and "La Combine à Nanard". Bill Baxter (Scottish Footballer)
William Baxter (21 September 1924 – 9 November 2002) was a Scottish footballer who played as a wing half for Midlands clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa. Biography Baxter joined Wolves as a member of the groundstaff upon leaving school in 1939. After guesting for Leicester City, Mansfield Town and Notts County during wartime, he signed professional forms at Molineux in September 1945. He made his debut on 4 December 1948 in a 1–0 win over Everton. Although never a regular starter for Wolves, he made five appearances in 1953–54, the season of the club's first championship. Lacking playing time for Wolves, he moved to Midlands neighbours Aston Villa in November 1953. Baxter made over 100 appearances for Villa before retiring in summer 1957. He stayed with the club to serve them as coach and assistant manager until 1967. He then moved back to his native Scotland, where he had short spells in charge of both East Fife and Raith Rovers. William John Baxter (29 May 1919 – 23 March 1983) was a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of William John Thomas Baxter (1892-1963), and Margaret Josephine Baxter (1888-1972), née Nihill, William John Baxter was born in Werribee, Victoria on 29 May 1919. His brothers, Ken Baxter (footballer), Kenneth Matthew Patrick Baxter (1917-1959), and Bernie Baxter, Bernard Patrick Baxter (1929-2012), both played with Carlton in the VFL. He married Olive Lillian Sneezewell (1919-1983) on 23 November 1940. Military service He served in the Australian Army with the 32nd Battalion (Australia), 32nd Battalion.
