Biggs (TV Channel)
Biggs (known until 1 December 2013, as Panda Biggs) is a Portugal, Portuguese cable television, basic cable and satellite television channel targeted to teens and youth from ages 15 to 24. History The services was initially set to be named Bute, later Biggs, but was later renamed Panda Biggs at the request of ERC. It was launched on 1 December 2009 on the NOS (Portuguese media company), NOS platform. It was targeted to children and teens from ages 8 to 14. It aired live-action shows, films, anime and cartoon shows. It also used to air archived programs from Canal Panda. Its design is very similar to that of YTV (Canadian TV channel), YTV and Disney XD. On 1 June 2021, it was launched another Portuguese TV channel targeted to children called Panda Kids. It airs almost mostly the anime and cartoon shows formerly aired on Biggs, including new ones and films, some formerly aired on Canal Panda. Biggs Army Airfield (formerly Biggs Air Force Base) is a United States Army military airbase located on the Fort Bliss military base in El Paso, Texas. History Biggs Field/Biggs Army Airfield (1916–47) On 15 June 1919, following an attack by Pancho Villa's forces on Ciudad Juárez, United States Army Air Service personnel equipped with Dayton-Wright DH-4 aircraft were sent to Fort Bliss to begin patrols of the U.S.-Mexico border, initiating the United States Army Border Air Patrol. In August 1919 construction commenced on a steel hangar for an airship station at Camp Owen Bierne, Fort Bliss and in December 1919 the 8th Balloon Company moved there from Brooks Field, Texas. In January 1920 the 1st Surveillance Group moved from Kelly Field to Fort Bliss. Biggs (formerly Biggs Station) is a city in Butte County, California, United States. The population was 1,964 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, up from 1,707 at the 2010 United States census, 2010 census. Geography Biggs is located at (39.413820, -121.710316). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all of it land. History A post office was established at Biggs Station in 1871, and the name changed to Biggs in 1884. It was incorporated in 1903. Biggs is named for Maj. Marion Biggs, who first shipped grain by rail from the town's location. In 1877, ancestors of the scientist Linus Pauling left Missouri and travelled to California, where they lived for a time in Biggs, "a settlement composed mostly of German Americans, Germans" (the ancestors in question were themselves of German descent).
