Big Spring (Pennsylvania)
The Big Spring near Luthersburg, Brady Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, was an important camp site and trail hub for the Great Shamokin Path and the Goschgoschink Path. The Great Shamokin Path connected the Susquehanna River with the Allegheny River, and extended across Pennsylvania from the native village Shamokin, on the Susquehanna River, to Kittanning, Pennsylvania, on the Allegheny River. The location of the Big Spring Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission Marker, dedicated December 29, 1950, is near US Route 322, on Pennsylvania Route 410, southwest of Luthersburg. Tuscumbia, Alabama
Tuscumbia is a city in and the county seat of Colbert County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,423. The city is part of The Shoals metropolitan area. The Big Spring Vietnam Memorial is a war memorial located in Big Spring, Texas, United States, honoring American servicemen (especially those local to Big Spring) who gave their lives, became prisoners of war or went missing in action in the Vietnam War. Big Spring Jam
Big Spring Jam was an annual music festival taking place in Huntsville, Alabama. The Jam, which began in 1993, typically took place the fourth weekend in September. From 1993 to 2009, it was a three-day event beginning Friday and ending Sunday. The 2011 revival was a two-day event on Friday and Saturday only. It featured acts from all genres of music including local bands, emerging talent, oldies acts, and the top artists of the day. Along with the music, the Big Spring Jam also held an annual 5k race. The title of the festival was a matter of confusion for many, especially those outside northern Alabama, as the Big ''Spring'' Jam was held early each autumn. Big Spring Creek ( ats, ʔinííθɔ́ɔwuh, lit=warm water) is a tributary of the Judith River in Fergus County, Montana near Lewistown, Montana. The creek originates from a first magnitude artesian spring approximately south of Lewistown and flows north, northwest for to its confluence with the Judith River. The spring is the one of the largest in the world flowing at approximately per minute out of the Madison-Limestone formation in the foothills of the Big Snowy Mountains. The creek flows through and under the town of Lewistown. For three blocks spanning Main Street, the creek runs underneath the town in a man-made channel that was created as the town was built over the creek. Big Spring Cafe
Big Spring Cafe is a diner in Huntsville, Alabama. It opened in 1922, and is the oldest restaurant in the city. It is often noted as a landmark in the city and as one of Huntsville's "signature" restaurants. When the original location opened, it served only hamburgers consisting of ground beef, onions, mustard and salt on a roll. History The original Big Spring Cafe opened in 1922 at 119 Jefferson Street. It was located in a railroad boxcar near the Big Spring Canal. It then moved to 115 Gallatin Street (where the Von Braun Center parking garage now stands), and then to Governors Drive in 1970. This location provided 16 bar stools at the counter and two long tables for customers. Big Spring Bombers
Big Spring, Texas was home to several minor league baseball teams between 1928 and 1955. The Hamlin Pied Pipers moved from Hamlin, Texas to Big Spring during the 1928 season and became the Big Spring Springers, who finished 6th in the West Texas League that season, 21 games out of first place under manager Armistead "Army" Magness. The team changed its name to the Big Spring Cowboys the following year and were at one point during the season managed by Nick Carter. They dissolved following the season. In 1938, the Big Spring Barons joined the West Texas–New Mexico League, before they moved to Odessa, Texas during the 1940 season and became the Odessa Oilers. They were replaced the following season by the Big Spring Bombers, an affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers, but that team only lasted one season.
