Big Electric Cat
Big Electric Cat is a gothic rock group from Sydney, Australia, formed by musicians Paul Sadler and Deborah Denton, who had moved from London to Sydney in 1989. In 1991, inspired by Philip K. Dick's sci-fi novel '' Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?'' and the future noir movie '' Blade Runner'', and inspired by the film's dark, futuristic, and other themes, they formed Big Electric Cat. In 1993 they were joined by drummer Scott Charaneka and local bassist David Block. After Scott's departure, live drumming was dropped in favour of a drum machine named "Dr. Ruth" after the famous sex therapist Dr. Ruth; thus the band's sound was born. After sell-out gigs across Australia and the resurgence of the gothic scene, the band recorded their 4-track demo "Suspira." Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (, ; born 26 April 1940) is an Italian composer, songwriter, and record producer. Dubbed the "Honorific nicknames in popular music, Father of Disco", Moroder is credited with pioneering euro disco and electronic dance music. His work with synthesizers had a large influence on several music genres such as Hi-NRG, Italo disco, new wave, house and techno music. "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)" is a song recorded by English singer-songwriter David Bowie. The title track of the 1982 erotic horror film '' Cat People'', Bowie became involved with the track after director Paul Schrader reached out to him about collaborating. The song was recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland in July 1981. Bowie wrote the lyrics, which reflected the film, while Italian producer Giorgio Moroder composed the music, which is built around only two chord changes. The song was released as a single by Moroder's label MCA Records in April 1982, appearing in different edits between the 7" and 12" releases, alongside edits for other countries. Switchblade Symphony was an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Their music combined orchestral sounds with heavy synth sequences and ethereal vocals to create a union of classical music and gothic rock. History Switchblade Symphony was formed in 1989 by composer Susan Wallace and vocalist Tina Root. The band's name refers to the cutting up elements of classical music to mix them with harder sounds. They released their first album in 1995 on the Cleopatra Records label. Christian Death is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles County, California, in 1979 by Rozz Williams. With major line-up changes over the years, Christian Death has retained "a relentlessly confrontational stand against organized religion and conventional morality". Williams was eventually joined by guitarist Rikk Agnew of the band Adolescents, James McGearty on bass guitar and George Belanger on drums. Timothy Wiles, known by the stage name Ãœberzone, is an electronic musician originally from Anaheim, California. He has also been known as Q, named after the popular character in the James Bond series. Wiles is well known for concocting interesting gizmos and gadgets.
