Big Brother (Greek Season 5)
''Big Brother Greece 5'', was the fifth season of the Greek reality television series '' Big Brother''. The show followed sixteen contestants, known as housemates, who were isolated from the outside world for an extended period of time in a custom built House. Each week, one or more of the housemates were evicted by a public vote. The last remaining housemate, Giannis Foukakis, was declared the winner, winning a cash prize of €170,000. The season lasted 119 days and was presented by Roula Koromila. It launched on Alpha TV on October 3, 2010, and ended on January 30, 2011. As with other Alpha TV programs, the show also aired live in Cyprus through their affiliate Sigma TV. Alpha TV was also partner with Greece's biggest pay tv provider NOVA Greece to launch a 23-hour ''Big Brother'' channel on their satellite platform. However, the show on NOVA was cut by ESR. Roula Koromila
Theodora "Roula" Koromila ( el, Θεοδώρα "Ρούλα" Κορομηλά; born on February 16, 1957) is a Greek television and talk show presenter. Early life Roula Koromila was born in Athens on February 16, 1957, and comes from Messinia. Her father was a soldier and spent her childhood from city to city while studying as a secretary. She has one brother, Thanasis and one sister, Lena. Television career In the mid-80s Koromila began working in public television. From 1989 to 1991 she presented "Mia Kalimera Einai Auti" on ET1. In 1991 she moved to the newly formed channel ANT1, launching the morning show "Proinos Kafes", which enjoyed great success. She presented the show, enjoying high ratings, until 1994, while also launching the first Greek television variety show in 1992, "Ciao Ant1". Pyrgos, Elis
Pyrgos ( el, Πύργος, meaning "tower") is a city in the northwestern Peloponnese, Greece, capital of the regional unit of Elis and the seat of the Municipality of Pyrgos. The city is located in the middle of a plain, from the Ionian Sea. The river Alfeios flows into sea about south of Pyrgos.
