South Tyrol Arena
The South Tyrol Arena (in Italian ''Arena Alto Adige''; in German ''Südtirol Arena'') is a biathlon stadium in the municipality of Rasen-Antholz, in South Tyrol (Italy). The facility will host the biathlon competitions of the 2026 Winter Olympics of Milan-Cortina. History The facility, which began construction in 1969 and opened in 1971, has regularly hosted a stage of the Biathlon World Cup, as well as six editions of the Biathlon World Championships (1975, 1976, 1983, 1995, 2007, and 2020) and two editions of the Biathlon Junior World Championships (1975 and 1983). The stadium was modernized from 2006: the grandstand for spectators was enlarged and a building was built for the competition judges. Florent Claude (born 11 November 1991) is a French-born Belgian biathlete. Biography Florent Claude is originally a French biathlete, born in Remiremont, in the Vosges, in 1991. He has a Master in physical training from the Université Grenoble Alpes. Due to a lack of chances to compete at the highest biathlon level in France, he relocated to Belgium, where he formed a team with Michael Rösch, another naturalized experienced biathlete (Olympic gold medal in the relay in 2006 with Germany). In June 2017 Claude acquired the Belgian nationality. His brothers Fabien Claude and Emilien Claude are also biathletes and compete for France. In 2018, Claude competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics with Michael Rösch as the first Belgian Olympic biathletes ever. Michal Krčmář (; born 23 January 1991) is a Czech biathlete and an Olympic silver medalist in the sprint at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He was a part of the silver junior men's relay at Biathlon Junior World Championships 2012. Since 2013–14 season he has competed regularly at Biathlon World Cup and has amassed 300 World Cup Starts. Andrejs Rastorgujevs (born 27 May 1988) is a Latvian biathlete. In 2021, Rastorgujevs was disqualified for 18 months due to doping rules violations. Christian Gow (born March 28, 1993) is a former Canadian biathlete. Gow is the younger brother of Canadian biathlete Scott Gow, competing alongside each other representing Canada at World Championships and both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
