Biathlon At The 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's Relay
The men's relay competition of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Whistler Olympic Park in Whistler, British Columbia on February 26, 2010. The race consisted of four laps of cross-country skiing, each lap a total of 7.5 km. Every 2.5 km there would be a shooting zone, the first one is prone and the second one is standing. Any misses in the shooting zones count as penalties which must be completed by going around a penalty loop right after the second shooting zone. There were four racers per team, each completing one lap. As all the teams started together, the team that crossed the finish line first would win. Results The race started at 11:30. Whistler Olympic Park
The Whistler Olympic Park is the location of the Nordic events facilities for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is located in the Madeley Creek basin in the Callaghan Valley, west of Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. The facility hosted the Biathlon at the 2010 Winter Olympics, biathlon, Cross-country skiing at the 2010 Winter Olympics, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined at the 2010 Winter Olympics, Nordic combined, and Ski jumping at the 2010 Winter Olympics, ski jumping. After the Olympics will remain a public facility, complementing the extensive wilderness trails and alpine routes already in use. Fredrik Lindström (biathlete)
Fredrik Lindström (born 24 July 1989) is a Swedish former biathlete from Bredbyn. He made his World Cup debut on 12 December 2008 in Hochfilzen, where he ended up in 47th place. He represented Sweden at three Winter Olympics; 2010, 2014 and 2018. His best result is a victory in the men's relay in 2018. Lindström also won 2 medals individually in the World Championships: bronze in mass start in 2012 and bronze in the individual in 2013. Zdeněk Vítek
Zdeněk Vítek () (born 25 July 1977) is a Czech former biathlete. Vítek retired from the sport at the end of the 2013–14 season. In May 2014, he was named as the head coach for the Czech Republic's women biathlon team. After four years in this role, in June 2018 Vitek became head coach of the Czech men's team. Martin Fourcade
Martin Fourcade (; born 14 September 1988) is a French biathlete and sous-lieutenant. He is a five-time Olympic champion, a thirteen-time World Champion and a seven-time winner of the Overall World Cup. As of February 2018, he is the most successful French Olympian of all time. Fourcade is the all-time biathlon record holder of overall World Cup titles with seven big crystal globes and he's also the all-time record holder of the most consecutive Major Championships titles with at least one non-team gold medal in every major championship from 2011-2018. Simon Fourcade (born 25 April 1984) is a French former biathlete and non-commissioned officer. He won a gold medal in the individual at the 2003 Biathlon Junior World Championships. Vincent Defrasne
Vincent Defrasne (born 9 March 1977) is a former French biathlete. He won a gold medal in the 12.5 km pursuit at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and a bronze medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He was also a member of the winning Biathlon World Championship relay team in 2001, and the 2004 team which won bronze. At the Biathlon World Championship 2007 in Antholz, Defrasne earned a bronze medal, in the 12.5 km pursuit and a silver medal in the Mixed Relay event. In 2009 at the World Championships in Pyeongchang, Defrasne was part of the victorious mixed relay team. Defrasne served as the flagbearer for France at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Vincent Jay
Vincent Jay (born 18 May 1985) is a former French biathlete and non-commissioned officer. During his career, he won two Olympic medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver - a gold in the sprint and a bronze medal in the pursuit. He was the first Frenchman to win an Olympic sprint Biathlon title. In the World Cup, he has fourteen podiums with two individual victories in Vancouver and two victories as part of relay teams. Michael Greis (; born 18 August 1976) is a former Germans, German Biathlon, biathlete. Career Greis first competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, finishing 15th and 16th in the 10 km sprint and 12.5 km pursuit events in the biathlon. Arnd Peiffer (born 18 March 1987) is a German former biathlete. His greatest achievements were sprint victories in the 2018 Winter Olympics and the Biathlon World Championships 2011. Andreas Birnbacher
Andreas Birnbacher (born 11 September 1981) is a former German biathlete. His biggest successes were the silver medal in the mass start event at the 2007 World Championships and the gold medal in the mixed relay at the 2008 World Championships. He also won the bronze medal at the 2012 world championships in Ruhpolding when he was part of the German teams that finished third in the mixed relay and the men's relay. Simon Schempp (born 14 November 1988) is a German former biathlete. Career In 2009, he made his World Cup debut. He became world champion by winning gold in the 15 km mass start race at the Biathlon World Championships 2017 in Hochfilzen. He also won three more gold medals, two for being part of the German Biathlon World Championships 2010 mixed relay team in Khanty-Mansiysk and the German Biathlon World Championships 2017 mixed relay team in Hochfilzen, and one gold medal as part of the German Biathlon World Championships 2015 men's relay team in Kontiolahti.
